ICMR JRF 2024 exams are organized by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). ICMR is located in New Delhi. JFR (Junior Research fellowship) courses empower students to carry out successful research in the field of Biomedical Sciences and social sciences at its institutes.

ICMR JRF 2024 is conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi every year for students who wish to make a career in the Medical Science Field. Indian Council of Medical Research, New Delhi (ICMR) organizes ICMR JRF Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for offering admission into the Research and the Ph.D. Programs.

The admission is based on the entrance test to check the eligibility of the student.  ICMR is the Apex Authority which is made for the formulation, coordination, and promotion of biomedical research under the Department of Health Research, MOH & FW. ICMR JRF 2024 Application Form 

ICMR JRF 2024 Application Form will be Released Soon. Applicants need to visit the ICMR website http://www.icmr.nic.in Click on the JRF portal to open the ICMR JRF 2024 Application Form.

• Register yourself as a new user to apply.
• The Application Form needs to be filled with the information requested in it.
• Information can be personal (name, father & mother names, DOB, etc.) and educational.
• Always check properly about the spellings and the words that you enter as any wrong or false information will lead to the cancellation of the form.
• Applicants must attach the scanned photo and signature in the Application Form, as per the formats provided for those in the notification.
• Once the application is done, the applicant needs to pay the fee for the same.
• After everything is completed applicant must take the printouts of the filled form.
• Three copies of the ICMR JRF 2024 Application Form are to be sent to the office for the admission process.

Note: Fee can be deposited in the SBI (State Bank of India) branches by filling the challan and it should be in the director’s name.

• Fees for reserved applicants – Rs. 800/– 

ICMR JRF 2024 Eligibility Criteria 

• The Eligibility Criteria play an important role to get admissions.
• The applicant should be a citizen of India.
• The upper age limit for the applicants who want to apply for the ICMR JRF examination is 28 yrs.
• Physically disabled applicants will also be given an age relaxation of 5 years.
• OBC category applicants will get an age relaxation of 3 years in the upper age.
• Applicants from the reserved category such as SC and ST will be given age relaxation of 5 years
• Applicants should have Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science or Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course

ICMR JRF 2024 Exam Pattern

• ICMR JRF examination will have just one paper and the time duration given for the paper will be 2 hours.
• The paper will be divided into two sections:

Section A

• The aptitude section will include the below topics for 50 marks.
• The scientific phenomenon in everyday life.
• General knowledge of sciences
• Common statistics.

Section B & Section C

• Life sciences
• Social Science

All these questions would be compulsory with each question carrying 1 mark in Section A.

• Section: The applicants may attempt questions in either of the two areas (Section B & Section C).
• Questions: Each section B & C will have 100 questions, and the applicants should attempt any 75 questions.
• indications: Applicants should indicate the option for Section B or C in the Application Form also.
• Language: The questions paper will be in English Language only
• Negative Marking: Negative marking (0.25 marks) will be given for each wrong answer.

• Applicants have to prepare themselves by following the syllabus of the entrance examination.
• Applicants should plan their everyday schedules and remove a fixed time to study and focus on it.
• Applicants should never eliminate any part of the topic while studying or preparing for the examination.

• Practice with previous years’ question papers are always helpful as they will help you to know more about the exam pattern.

ICMR JRF 2024 Syllabus

General Aptitude subject covers topics as Common Statistics, General Knowledge of Sciences & Scientific Phenomenon in everyday life.

Life Sciences  subject covers microbiology, physiology, molecular biology, genetics, human nutrition, human biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, biophysics, immunology, pharmacology, zoology, environmental sciences, botany, veterinary science and bio-informatics

Social Sciences subject covers psychology, sociology, home sciences, statistics, anthropology, social work, and health economics

ICMR JRF 2024 Admit card

ICMR JRF Admit Card will be released soon by the exam conducting authorities only. This will happen only after the submission of the ICMR JRF Application Form. Admit cards will be released on the official website of the university.

Admit card will be available at least two weeks in advance of the JRF exam date. Applicants need to go to the website again to get access to the Admit card.

It is mandatory to bring the admit card (hall ticket) to the examination hall. Admit Cards will be in PDF format and will have details of the examination center, date, time, and also applicant’s information. Applicants without the Admit Card will not be allowed to enter the center to write the exam.

ICMR JRF 2024 Result

The Result will be released on the official website. The Result can be checked by entering the registration number and the roll number.

The council will provide the Results after 15 days of the examination. Applicants should always take the printouts of the Result. The result mark sheet will be required for further process.

ICMR JRF 2024 Counselling

Counseling starts a month after the Result is declared. The counseling selection process includes the selection of the applicants depending on the Result/grade they achieved in the examination.

The selected applicants will be called for an interview. A particular committee is appointed for this purpose.
