It is a multi-campus Public Funded Research University Creating Human Service Professionals for the Nation. TISS grounds in Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, etc, will acknowledge TISSNET 2024 scores. 

The TISSNET exam for the academic year 2024-25 at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai has been cancelled. Instead, admission to all postgraduate courses will be based on the Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate Programs (CUET PG) 2024. This decision aligns with the directives from the Ministry of Education and the University Grants Commission, mandating the use of CUET for postgraduate program admissions in central, state, and other participating universities.

CUET provides a unified platform for students seeking admission to various Central Universities, State Universities, Deemed-to-be Universities, and Private Universities across the country. Consequently, TISS has opted to discontinue TISSNET 2024, and except for two postgraduate courses, admission will also consider scores from the national-level management entrance test CAT 2023.
