NIFT 2024 Application Form was available on 5th December 2023. NIFT’s complete form is the National Institute of Fashion Technology. It is a national-level examination. NIFT stands for the National Institute of Fashion Technology and conducts a national-level examination. This exam facilitates admission to various undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses in fashion and technology fields. It offers programs such as B.Des, B.F.Tech, M.Des, and MFM for aspiring candidates.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has commenced the application process for the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Entrance Examination for admissions in 2024. Applicants can apply online through the official website nift.ac.in.
The deadline for application submission is January 3, with an extended provision for candidates to submit their forms until January 8. The NIFT 2024 exam is slated to take place on February 5, 2024, across 60 cities.

NIFT 2024 Application Form
The NIFT application form for 2024 admissions was released on December 5 and can be accessed through nift.ac.in or nift.ntaonline.in. Eligibility criteria for BDes and BFTech courses require a 12th-grade pass, while MDes and MFTech demand a minimum of graduation. To register for the NIFT entrance exam, candidates must fill the application form available on www.nift.ac.in before the regular application deadline on January 3, 2024. An extended deadline with a late fee is applicable until January 8, 2024.
AGE limit
Age eligibility criteria for the Bachelor’s Programmes (BDes & BFTech) at NIFT stipulate that candidates should not exceed 24 years of age as of August 1 in the year of admission. However, there is a relaxation of up to 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories.
NIFT 2024 Application Form Step-by-Step Filling
The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) 2024 Application Form can be completed in a step-by-step process through its official website. This comprehensive guide outlines the essential steps required for filling out the application form, ensuring a seamless submission process for aspiring candidates.
Step 1: Registration
Candidates are required to register for the NIFT Entrance Exam by using a unique Email ID and Mobile Number. This step will generate a registration ID.
Step 2: Online Application Form
Fill in the Online Application Form by entering all the necessary details. After completing the form, note down the system-generated Application Number for future reference. Additionally, upload the following scanned documents:
- Recent Photograph: Upload a recent photograph in either color or black & white (in jpg format, size: 10KB – 200KB) with 80% face visibility, including ears, against a white background.
- Candidate’s Signature: Upload the candidate’s signature (in jpg format, size: 4KB – 30KB).
- Result Awaited Attestation Form: Provide the duly verified Result Awaited Attestation Form (in PDF format, size: 50KB – 500KB).
- Category Certificate: If applicable (SC/ST/OBC/EWS, etc.), upload the Category Certificate in PDF format (size: 50KB – 300KB).
- PwD Certificate and UDID: If applicable, upload the PwD Certificate and UDID in PDF format (size: 50KB – 300KB).
Step 3: Fee Payment
Make the prescribed fee payment through Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI. Ensure to keep proof of the fee payment for future reference.

Download, save, and print copies of the Confirmation Page for reference. This page serves as confirmation that the application process has been completed successfully.
The Examination Process
All eligible candidates would have to go through an examination process. The process for each program is separately listed below:
B. Des Course
- For candidates to the UG Design programs, the selection process comprises a written examination comprising of a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT), followed by a situation test to be undertaken by shortlisted candidates of the written examination.
B. Tech Course
- For candidates to the UG Fashion Technology program, the selection process comprises a written examination comprising a General Ability Test (GAT).
M. Des Course
- For candidates to the PG Design program, the selection process comprises a written examination comprising of a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT) followed by a Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) for shortlisted candidates of the written examination.
M.F.M. Course
- For the M.F.M program, the selection process comprises a Written test comprising a General Ability Test (GAT) followed by a Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) for shortlisted written examination candidates.
M.F Tech Course
- For the M.F.M program, the selection process comprises the Written test comprising of a General Ability Test (GAT) followed by a Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) for shortlisted candidates of the written examination.
The Written Examination (for All Programmes)
Based on their choice of city, all eligible candidates will have to appear for the written entrance examination at the Examination Centres opted for by them. The written entrance examination is designed to test the candidates’ knowledge, skill, and aptitude for the program opted.
List Of Examination Centres
A Paper-Based Test (PBT) for all UG and PG Programmes will be conducted on 5th February 2024 in 32 cities.
The candidate may select only ONE city for the examination on the 2nd week of January 2024. No request for a change in the examination centre will be entertained at any stage.
