NIFT 2024 Syllabus will be prescribed by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). The Government of India registers the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) to provide a fashion and technology program on the professional level for candidates. Those candidates seeking to get Admission to NIFT; can apply for the entrance examination of NIFT because, based on the candidate’s rank, they will get Admission to the NIFT campuses.

It may provide courses for candidates, such as undergraduate Accessory Designing, Fashion Communication, Fashion Designing, Knitwear Designing, Leather Designing, Textile Designing and Apparel Production program alon, Anders of Design, Fashion Management, and Fashion Technology programs.

Through this content, the candidates will know the complete information about NIFT, cluding the syllabus, exam pattern, exam centres, etc.

NIFT Syllabus 2024

Those candidates are appearing for the NIFT Entrance Examination to get Admission to the NIFT Campuses; they have to prepare their best to give the examination by picking the syllabus; candidates need to be prepared for the examination. There is the various syllabus provided for candidates which are given below

GAT FOR B.Design & M.Design

  • Gat – General Ability Test
  • Design – Bachelor Of Design
  • Design – Master Of Design

This test will comprise various sections as given below:

  • Quantitative Ability
  • Communication Ability
  • English Comprehension
  • Analytical Ability
  • General Knowledge & Current Affairs

The number of questions may vary in each section from year to year

Quantitative Ability

This sub-test is designed to test the quantitative ability of the candidates. The subtest consists of questions on Addition, Multiplication, Division, Fractions, Percentage, Rate of Interest, Work & Task, Ratio & Proportion, and Distance.

Communication Ability

This sub-test aims to test the candidates’ language ability in day-to-day communication in English. It includes questions on synonyms, antonyms, words with corresponding meanings, singular, plural, one-word substitutes, idioms & phrases, correct spellings, etc.

English Comprehension

This sub-test tests one’s ability to comprehend a situation from a given passage & tests the Basic English language.

Analytical Ability

This sub-test is designed to test the candidate’s inference & logic from the given information.

General Knowledge & Current Affairs

This sub-test is designed to test the candidate’s general knowledge & current affairs.

CAT FOR B.Design & M.Design

CAT – Creative Ability Test

This test is administered to judge the intuition skill, power of observation, and innovation in developing the candidate’s concept & design ability. An essential aspect of the test is the creative & innovative use of colour & illustration skills.

GAT For B.F.Tech, MFM, M.Des. & M.F.Tech

  • Get – General Ability Test
  • F.Tech – Bachelor Of Fashion Technology
  • MFM – Master Of Fashion Management
  • Des. – Master Of Design
  • F.Tech – Master Of Fashion Technology

This test will comprise various sections as given below:

  • Quantitative Ability
  • Communication Ability & English Comprehension
  • Analytical & Logical Ability
  • General Knowledge & Current Affairs
  • Case Study

Quantitative Ability

This sub-test is designed to test the quantitative ability of the candidates. The subtest consists of questions on Addition, Multiplication, Division, Fractions, Percentage, Rate of Interest, Work & Task, Ratio & Proportion, and Distance.

Communication Ability & English Comprehension

This sub-test aims to test the candidates’ language ability in day-to-day communication in English. It includes questions on synonyms, antonyms, words with corresponding meanings, singular, plural, one-word substitutes, idioms & phrases, correct spellings, comprehending a situation from a given passage, etc.

Analytical Ability

This sub-test is designed to test the candidate’s inference & logic from the given information & evaluate the candidate’s ability to identify the logic or reason involved in a particular problem given & applying it to solving the problem. Concepts & practice of creative & lateral thinking is likely to be helpful.

General Knowledge & Current Affairs

This sub-test is designed to test the candidate’s general knowledge & current affairs.

Case Study

This sub-test is based on a situation in an industry environment. It helps to evaluate the candidate’s managerial ability.

  • B. Tech will also have some questions from the engineering field.
  • The number of questions may vary in each section & for each course from year to year.
  • The level of difficulty in questions for all courses will vary.
  • Shortlisted candidates from the written entrance examination must undergo Situation Test / Group Discussion (G.D.) / Interview as applicable (Except B.F.Tech ).

Situation Test

The selected Candidates for B. Des from the written entrance examination are required to go for a Situation Test, a hands-on test to evaluate the candidate’s skills for material handling & innovative ability in a given situation with a given set of materials.

Group Discussions

Those candidates shortlisted for Masters Programs from the written entrance examination must undergo Case Study-based Group Discussions (G.D.) & Personal Interviews (P.I.).

G.D. would comprise approximately 15 to 20 minutes of discussion on a case study assigned on which a panel of experts will assess the candidates on the following parameters:

  • Conceptual Clarity
  • Knowledge of the topic assigned
  • The contribution made to the topic
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Ability to generate new ideas
  • Problem-solving approach
  • Leadership qualities
  • Effective Communication

Personal Interview

A candidate is judged on the various parameters during an individual personal interview by a panel, as listed below:

  • Career Orientation
  • Aptness for the field
  • Overall personal achievements in academics & co-curricular activities
  • Communication
  • General Awareness & Aptitude, as creative & lateral thinking, will likely be helpful.

NIFT Exam Pattern

Mode of Exam This exam was conducted in offline mode (pen and paper mode).
Negative Marking There was no provision for negative marking.
Papers This exam has been divided into GAT (General Ability Test) and CAT (Creative Ability Test).
No. of Questions A total of 150 questions were asked in the GAT test.
Language The GAT question paper was asked in the English language.
Duration The test duration was 2 hours (120 minutes).

  1. Hello l want to know full syllabus of 2019 nift MFM entrance exam and please tell if there is any negative marking in this exam.
