JEE Main Eligibility 2023 will be published by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This is the central authority responsible for the exam that organizes the joint Entrance exam (JEE Main).

This exam is a national-level exam aimed at providing admissions to undergraduate engineering courses at IIT, NIT, and IIIT. It is done in two modes that are online (computer-based mode) and offline (mode and pencil-based paper).

JEE Main 2023 Eligibility Criteria consist of various essential parameters like Age, Qualification, Attempts, Marks, and various other important factors that must be known to the students before applying for the JEE Main Examination 2021. Previously JEE Main was conducted by CBSE but from the year 2023, JEE Main will be conducted by NTA.

The students must know the complete eligibility criteria to make sure that they satisfy entirely that eligibility for admission to B.Arch. Programs, candidates need to have 50% marks in PCM in aggregate and separately.

Qualification Criteria

Qualification 10+2 from Central/ State board like CBSE, ICSE, Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi, NIOS, etc.
Intermediate/Pre University/Pre Degree Courses Valid if It is recognized Board/ University
National Defence Academy Final Year 2-year course of the Joint Services Wing (JSW)
Vocational Examination HSC
NIOS Senior Secondary School Examination with a minimum of 5 subjects.
Diploma 3 Years Course from AICTE or State board of technical education
10+2 Association of Indian Universities (AIU) recognized school, board, and university examinations in India or any foreign country
Passing Marks No prescribed percentage

Note- No board marks are counted for appearing in JEE Main from the year 2017.

GCE  (London, Cambridge, or Sri Lanka) Examination at the Advanced (A) level
HSC – Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
Class XII Examination is not a public Examination The candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination earlier.

Passed in 2018 and 2019 Eligible
Given Before 2018 Not Eligible
Appeared in 12th (2016) but Failed & Passed in 2018 Not Eligible
Passed 12th Exams in 2015 or before or appearing in 2021 or Later Not Eligible
Passed in 12th 2021, Appear in 2021 for Improvement The top 20-percentile cut-off for 2020 will be considered. However, if a candidate writes all the subjects in 2021, then the best of the two performances will be found.
5 Subjects Marks Candidates also note down that for the percentile system, total marks obtained in all the five subjects of the mark sheet are required for JEE Main and JEE Advanced.

Minimum Marks For access to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs, candidates should secure minimum 75% marks (65% for SC/ST students)

If Not

Must be in the top 20 percentile in class 12th examination conducted by respective boards.

Subject Combination PCM and Other Subjects
BE/ B.Tech. Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational


B.Arch/B.Planning           Passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics.
