National Institute Of Technology, Calicut, on a wide scale known as NIT, Calicut, is a stand-alone University that lies about 22 kilometers North-East of Calicut City. NIT was established by an Act of Parliament (Act 29 of 2007) who received the approval of the President of India on 5th June 2007.

The University was set up in 1961 and since then, it is running on a Non-profitable basis in accordance with the provision Act. NIT Calicut provides various Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Ph.D. courses. NIT Calicut admissions were based on the following entrance exams.

NIT Calicut is a pioneer institute for university education in India. It was declared as an Institute of National Importance in 2007. It features B.Arch, M.Tech, M.Sc, MCA, MBA, M.Plan, and Ph.D. courses in the various specializations. NIT Calicut is also offering an M.Tech, MBA, and M.Plan courses under the Sponsored category. The application form can be filled online with a visit to the official website of the institute.

NIT Calicut 2021 Application Form

  • Visit the official website of NIT Calicut and fill out the application form online.
  • Take the printed copy of the duly filled form.
  • Pay off the application fee of INR 600 (INR 300 for SC/ST) through DD drawn in favor of “Director NIT Calicut” payable directly at the State Bank of India, NIT Calicut Branch (Code No. 2207).

NIT Calicut offers Ph.D. in different fields of Engineering, Management, Architecture & Basic Sciences. A Master’s degree in an associated discipline with 60% marks (55% with respect to the SC/ST) in the aggregate are eligible to apply. Selection takes place on the basis of a written test and/ or personal interview conducted by the concerned Department.

This test was designed to analyze the aptitude of the candidates in the direction of the selected subject which includes research methodology and subject-specific information that are relevant to the course. The institute also proposes MBA and MCA courses at PG level for the duration of two and three years respectively.

Any graduate may request an MBA while the candidates must have studied Mathematics for being one of the main subjects at the qualifying degree for the level MCA. CAT score followed by GD/ PI is a basic admission criterion for the MBA program. CMAT/ CAT qualified candidates can apply under MBA (Sponsored) category. The candidates must have qualifications in the NIMCET in order to guarantee admission to MCA.

The minimum eligibility for all these courses is a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university. M.Tech and M.Plan admission is based on the score in GATE followed closely by Counselling (CCMT) while M.Sc admission will be granted through JAM score followed by CCMN, a counseling process.
