JEST 2023 is a Joint Entrance Screening Test conducted by SERB – Science, and Engineering Research Board. This exam is conducted at National Level every year. Jest 2023 would be conducted offline at different exam centers. 

The JEST 2023 exam is also considered a National Eligibility Test (NET). This exam will offer candidates the chance to get admission in Ph.D. and Integrated Ph.D. courses. These courses varied from Neuroscience or Physics, Computational Biology. Theoretical Computer Science.

JEST 2023 Application Form 

The application form is the first step toward the exam and is mandatory for every candidate to fill up an application form for appearing in the exam. The application form would be available on an online website only. 

All the candidates are advised to fill the application form with a lot of care and concentration as any mistake can cancel your application form. All the other information about the JEST 2023 application form is given below. 

  • The application form for the JEST 2023 exam will be available online on the official website only. 
  • The start date to submit the application form online is from the 1st week of January 2023. 
  • The last date to submit the application form will be in the 2nd week of February. 
  • An applicant should not fill out more than one application form as it is not allowed in any case. 
  • All the Candidates who are filling out the application form will have to upload all the mentioned documents in the online application form correctly to avoid cancellations. 
  • You will have to fill in your information very carefully to avoid any problems in the further exam procedures. 
  • Fill in your details such as Name, Date of birth, and address in the application form with concentration. 
  • You will have to upload all your documents which are required in the application form very carefully and they should be in the format asked in the application form. 
  • Do not forget to note down your registration number, User ID, and Password as they will be asked to download your admit card and result. 
  • Candidates should take the printout of the application form as they have completed the application form. 
  • Candidates will not have to send any hard copies to the conducting body in any case. 

JEST 2023 Application Fees

After filling out the application form the candidates must pay the application fees. The application fee is set by the conducting body as per the different categories of candidates applying for the exam. 

The application fee will be paid before submitting the application form and you can see the application fee for the JEST 2023 exam below. 

  • Those who belong to the General category need to make a payment of Rs Rs.400/ – 
  • SC and ST category candidates need to make a payment of Rs 200/-. 

Candidates will be able to make payment for the application fee by modes like a Credit card, net banking, and debit card.

JEST 2023 Application Form Correction 

The JEST 2023 application form will be released online on the website from the 1st week of January. The application form correction facility is provided by the official authority and the official authority for the JEST 2023 exam will not be providing this facility. 

The candidates are advised to fill the application form with care and concentration as they would not be able to make changes after submission. 

JEST 2023 Eligibility Criteria 

Eligibility criteria are set by the exam conducting authority and they are similar for every candidate. Each candidate who is applying for the exam has to fulfill the eligibility criteria or else their application forms would be canceled.

It is advised that candidates check the eligibility criteria before filling out the application form to avoid cancellation. The JEST 2023 eligibility criteria are given below.

Nationality 

The candidates must be Indian. 

Education Qualification 

Eligibility Criteria for the Ph.D. program in Theoretical Computer Science at IMSc (JEST 2023)

  • MSc/ME/MTech. in Computer Science or a similar field, with a strong interest in the mathematical parts of the field.
  • Eligibility Criteria for a Ph.D. in Neuroscience at NBRC according to JEST 2023.
  • BE/BTech/MCA in Computer Science, MSc (Physics/Maths)

Eligibility Criteria for a Ph.D. in Physics in JEST 2023

  • The requirements for taking the JEST exam for a Ph.D. in Physics vary from institution to college.
  • Physics Master’s Degree (in all participating Institutes).
  • MSc in Mathematics, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, Optics & Photonics, Instrumentation, and Electronics will be considered at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics in Bangalore.
  • At IISc, IMSc, ICTS-TIFR, IUCAA, JNCASR, NCRA-TIFR, TIFR-TCIS, RRI, IISER Mohali, IISER Pune, and IISER Thiruvananthapuram, BE or BTech will be considered.
  • IUCAA will consider applicants with a master’s degree in physics, electronics, astronomy, or applied mathematics.
  • A master’s degree in physics, engineering physics, or applied physics is also acceptable at IPR.
  • SNBNCBS will consider candidates with a master’s degree in physics, chemistry, applied mathematics, biophysics, or biochemistry.
  • At TIFR, BTech Eng Phys will be evaluated.
  • Applied Physics ME/MTech will be considered at NISER

Eligibility Criteria for the Integrated MTech – Ph.D. Program at IIA under JEST 2023

  • MSc (Physics/Applied Physics) or Post-BSc (Hons) in Optics and Optoelectronics/Radio Physics and Electronics.
  • Eligibility Criteria for the Integrated Ph.D. Program at IISER Thiruvananthapuram in JEST 2023
  • A BSc (Physics) or a BE/BTech degree in any discipline is required.
  • BSc (Physics) or BE/BTech degree in any subject
  • JEST 2023 Eligibility Criteria for MSc Program at HRI
  • Beginning in 2023, HRI will offer a new MSc in Physics. HRI’s Integrated Ph.D. programme in Physics will be phased out in 2023

JEST 2023 Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D. in Computational Biology at IMSc

  • MSc/ME/MTech?/MCA in any engineering or science discipline, with good mathematical skills and a strong interest in biological problems.
  • BSc/BE/BTech/MCA in Computer Science or related disciplines, with an interest in the mathematical aspects of computer science.

JEST 2023 Exam Pattern

JEST 2023 Admit card

Admit cards will be accessible to only those candidates who would have filled out the application form correctly and also paid the application fees. The JEST 2023 admit card would be made available in the 3rd week of March 2023. 

The admit cards would be released on the official website only. After downloading the admit card make sure you have taken a printout of it as you have to take the admit card with you to the exam centers. If you do not have the admit card you will not be allowed to take the exam.

JEST 2023 Answer Key

Answer Key for the JEST 2023 exam would be released in the third week of April 2023. The answer key will be released online on the official website only. The answer key would be released some days after the exam. 

The answer key would be in PDF format and the candidates can easily download it from the website. The authorities have also provided facilities to raise objections against the answer key. After all the queries are solved the final answer key would be released for candidates to check with their answers. 

JEST 2023 Result 

JEST 2023 results would be announced in the last week of April 2023. The results would be announced on the official website only. For access to the results, the candidates would have to enter their login details. 

After the result is released the merit list will be prepared. Any other information would be released on the official website only.

JEST 2023 Merit List 

After the result is announced, the official authority would prepare the JEST 2023 Merit list. The merit list would be released on the official website online only. The list would be based on the result of the exam. 

After the merit list is released, the candidates will be shortlisted according to their ranks and invited for further counseling and admissions. 

JEST 2023 Counselling 

The counseling for JEST 2023 is the last step toward the admission process. JEST 2023 counseling would begin from the 1st week of May 2023. The counseling would be done online as well. 

The JEST 2023 counseling will have two steps one is certificate verification and the other is choice filling. Candidates would be able to choose the college and the course they want to get their admission in.
