The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board [WBJEE] was established in the year 1962 for the Common Entrance Exam, Admission to the Undergraduate Level Engineering Courses in the State of West Bengal.

WBJEE is standing for [The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board], it will conduct the Common Entrance Exam for admission to the undergraduate in engineering and technology, Pharmacy and Architecture in Universities, Govt. Colleges and Self Financed Institutes in the State.

The application form will be conducted on online only and the form will be available on official website only that is http://www.wbjeeb.nic.in

What is Admit Card


An applicant want to fill with the online application process then examination issued Admit cards only on the basis of the information provided by the applicant? All the candidates who appear to be prima facie eligible will be issued admit cards and shall be provisionally permitted to sit for WBJEE.

Admit Card


An applicants has to carry to the examination center with a printed hard copy of the admit card. Admit cards will be generated on the notified date for the student to download and take a print out.

WBJEE Admit Card Date 2018

Candidates can download the admit card from second week of April 2018. The exam will be conducted on 22nd April 2018 through offline mode (OMR Sheet). The result will be published through online mode in the first week of May June 2018. The counseling will be conducted from the second week of June 2018.

Process to Download WBJEE Admit Card


  1. Visit the official website link (link will be given above).
  2. Open the link in new tab.
  3. Click on ‘WBJEE 2018 Admit Card’ from notice section.
  4. Enter the application, password and security pin.
  5. Now, click on ‘SIGN IN’ and check your admit card.
  6. There is an also option of ‘Forgot Password’ and ‘Forgot Application Number’.
  7. Take the printout of it and keep extra printouts of it.
  8. Preserve the Copy of admit card till admission in the institution.

Qualification for appearing in the WBJEE-2018 for both Paper-I and Paper-II (for enlistment in the Merit Rank List-I i.e. the GMR):-


  • An applicants must have passed the Qualifying Examination i.e. the ‘10+2’ examination with Physics and Mathematics along with anyone of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Application as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above in regular class mode.
  • Must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of applicants belonging to reserved category) in the above three subjects taken together, Must have passed English in the ‘10+2’ examination with at least 30% marks.
  • The Board of the said Qualifying Examination must be recognized by the Central Government or State Government concerned.

Subjects of Examination


The subjects are, which are Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

Two papers of examinations will be there.


Paper I: – Mathematics

Paper II: – Physics & Chemistry combined.

  • For admission to any Engineering/Technology/Architecture Course appearing in both Paper-I and Paper-II is compulsory.
  • For admission to Pharmacy Course of the Jadavpur University, appearing in both Paper-I and Paper-II is compulsory.
  • For admission to any Pharmacy Course other than that of the Jadavpur University, appearing in mathematics is not compulsory. The score in ‘Physics + Chemistry’ (paper-II) only shall be considered.
  • Students appearing in both Paper-I and Paper-II are also eligible for admission to Pharmacy course.

The pattern of Question Papers in WBJEE


In every subject, all questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) type, with four options against each of the questions.

There will be three categories of questions in each of the subjects. The numbers of questions as well as maximum marks for each is stated as per the following table:-

Rank Card for the WBJEE


  • The final result will be published in the form of Rank Cards, and which will contain all relevant ranks, total score and component scores in paper-I [Mathematics] and Paper-II [physics & Chemistry].An applicant will be able to view and download their rank card by logging in with their password.
  • Ranks will be present to all the applicants, who appear for WBJEE. Both GMR and PMR will be present to those who appear in both Paper-I and Paper-II. And only PMR will be present to those, who appear in Paper-II only.
  • But all those who appear in the examination and have a rank, and may not be eligible for e-counseling, for which a cut off rank and/or a cut off score will be decided by the board, which will be announced at the time of publication of the result.

Scope of Admission

State funded/State aided Universities / Univ. Departments (U)


  • 100% seats in respect of all available courses shall be admitted through the WBJEE.
  • The fees for study in such Institutions shall be guided by relevant Fee-Structure of respective Universities

Government Engineering & Technology Colleges (G)


  • 100% seats in respect of all available courses shall be admitted through the WBJEE.
  • The fees for study in such Institutions shall be guided by relevant Fee-Structure as may be defined by the State Government in the Higher Education Department.

Private & Self Financing Engineering & Technology Colleges- Non-Minority Institutions (P)


90% of the Seats shall be available for admission through the WBJEE and remaining 10% seats shall be available for admission through the All India Engineering Entrance Examination i.e. the JEE-Main.

However, there may be some Institutions allowed to admit students under management quota (up-to a maximum of 10% seats). Admission to such seats shall be made by respective Institution through the WBJEE and/or JEE Main. Details are available separately.

Separate Fee-Structures are available for study in such Private & Self Financing Institutions as may be defined by the State Government in the Higher Education Department through relevant Government Orders.

Private & Self Financing Engineering & Technology Colleges- Minority Institutions (PM)


50% of the seats shall be available for admission through the WBJEE. Admission to remaining 50% of the seats shall be made through a separate Common Entrance Examination conducted by the Association of Minority Professional Academic Institutions (named as CEE-AMPAI). Details shall be available with the said Association.

 

Instructions for the Day of Exam

  • Must reach the examination hall before 30 minutes of the examination.
  • Must aware of your exam centre location in order to avoid any inconvenience at the day of exam.
  • Carry one of the document on exam day:
    • Hard copy of WBJEE 2018 admit card
    • A coloured photograph uploaded during the application form
    • One of the original photo ID card such as-Aadhaar card/PAN card/Passport/10th class admit card/School ID card.
  • Must take your seats before 15 minutes of starting of examination.
  • Do not bring any electronic gadget or study material in exam room.
  • Put your signature on the top of question booklet in the provided space.
