WBJEE 2024 Latest News and Updates

The online application form will become available in the 4th week of December 2023, and candidates can submit their forms and make fee payments until the 3rd week of January 2024. The last date for downloading the confirmation page is the 4th week of January 2024. Applicants can make corrections to their forms during the same period if needed. The admit cards will be issued between the 3rd and 4th weeks of April 2024, and the exam is scheduled for the 4th week of April 2024

The answer key will be released in the 1st week of May 2024, and candidates will have until the 2nd week of May 2024 to challenge it. The record response will be made available in the same week. Candidates can challenge the answer key until the 2nd week of May 2024. The final answer key will be released in the 3rd week of May 2024, followed by the declaration of results in the 4th week of May 2024. Finally, the counselling process is scheduled for the 4th week of May 2024.

What is WBJEE?

  • The WBJEE Application Form will be available for candidates to access starting from the fourth week of December 2023.
  • The application process for WBJEE 2024 will be conducted exclusively online, and there will be no provision for offline submission.
  • During the application process, candidates must provide various details, including personal information, educational qualifications, and contact information.
  • Along with the application form, candidates must upload scanned copies of their passport-sized photographs, signature, and relevant certificates.
  • The deadline for submitting the completed application form is until the third week of January 2024. Candidates must complete and submit their forms on or before this date to ensure successful registration.
  • In case of any errors or discrepancies in the application form, the examination authority will provide a correction facility to the applicants during the fourth week of January 2024.
  • Once the application form is submitted, candidates are advised to take a printout of the filled form for future reference and as proof of their application submission.

How to Apply WBJEE 2024 Application Form

  • Visit the official website to access the WBJEE 2024 Application Portal.
  • Begin the registration process by entering essential details like your name, father’s name, gender, domicile, and date of birth.
  • Create a secure password for your account, select a security question, and provide an answer to ensure your application information’s safety. After providing the required details, submit the registration form.
  • Proceed to fill in the application form with your personal information, academic qualifications, contact details, and other relevant data as specified.
  • For the application to be complete, upload a scanned passport-sized photograph in JPG/JPEG format. The photograph should be clear and fall within the size range of 10 to 200 KB. Additionally, upload your signature in JPG/JPEG format, with a file size between 4 to 30 KB. If any documents or certificates are required, ensure they are uploaded in PDF format, with the file size ranging from 50 to 300 KB.
  • The examination fee can be paid online using UPI, Credit card, Debit card, or Net Banking. Make sure the payment is successfully processed.
  • After completing all the steps and paying, you can download the “Confirmation Page” for future reference and record-keeping.

WBJEE 2024 Document Upload Guidelines

The WBJEE 2024 Document Upload Guidelines are as follows:

  • Photograph: Candidates must upload a recent, clear, and coloured photograph. The photograph should be in JPEG format with a maximum file size of a few hundred kilobytes. The background should be white or light-coloured, and the candidate’s face should be visible.
  • Signature: Candidates are required to upload their signatures in JPEG format. The signature should be printed on plain white paper with a black pen. Scanned or photographed copies of the signature should be clear and legible.
  • Left Thumb Impression (LTI): A scanned copy of the candidate’s left thumb impression must be uploaded in JPEG format. The impression should be clear and not smudged.
  • Domicile Certificate: Candidates claiming eligibility under the domicile category must upload a valid certificate issued by the competent authority.
  • Caste Certificate: A valid caste certificate must be uploaded per the Government of West Bengal guidelines for candidates applying under reserved categories.
  • PwD Certificate: Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates must upload a disability certificate from a competent medical authority.
  • Income Certificate: Candidates seeking benefits under the reserved quota must upload a valid income certificate based on their family income.
  • Class 10 Mark Sheet: A scanned copy of the Class 10 (or equivalent) mark sheet should be uploaded.

WBJEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria

WBJEEB has set specific eligibility requirements for WBJEE aspirants. To successfully apply for the Joint Entrance Exam, candidates must meet the WBJEE eligibility criteria 2023. Failure to fulfil these criteria will make candidates ineligible to appear for the exam. Age Limit

To be eligible for admission in Engineering & Technology, the candidate must be at least 17 years old as of 31st December 2024, with no upper age limit. However, the upper age limit for the Marine Engineering course is 25 years.

Qualifying Examination

  • Must have cleared the 10+2th (or equivalent) examination from a board recognised by the Central and State Governments.
  • Physics and Mathematics and any of the following – Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Computer Application- should have been passed as compulsory subjects in the qualifying examination.
  • The mentioned subjects, including theory and practical components, should have been passed individually in the regular class.
  • Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination will also be eligible for the WBJEE 2024 exam.

Education Qualification (For Engineering)

  • Qualification: Candidates should have completed their 12th standard or an equivalent examination from a Central Government board or any recognised board.
  • Subject: In the qualifying exam, candidates must have passed Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any of the following – Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, etc.
  • Marks: Candidates must obtain a minimum of 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC category candidates) in the qualifying examination.
