Each category may have its specific cutoff to ensure fair representation and equal opportunities.
  • Previous Year’s Cutoff: The cutoff marks from the previous year can serve as a benchmark for setting the cutoff for AILET 2024. The conducting authority may consider the cutoff trends from the previous year to estimate and determine the cutoff marks for the current year.

AILET 2024 Tie-Breaker Criteria

In case two or more candidates obtain the same score in AILET 2024 examination, the conducting authority may use certain tie-breaker criteria to determine the ranking or preference among those candidates.

Here are some common tie-breaker criteria used:

  1. Higher Marks in a Specific Section: When multiple candidates have the same overall score in AILET 2024, the conducting authority may prefer the candidate with higher marks in a specific section of the examination. This section, often Legal Aptitude, carries significant weightage in determining the rank. Candidates with higher scores in this section will be ranked higher.
  2. Higher Marks in a Subsection: If the AILET 2024 examination includes subsections within each section, the conducting authority may compare the marks obtained in a specific subsection. In case of a tie in the overall score, the candidate with higher marks in that subsection will be given a higher rank.
  3. Age Criteria: In certain situations where a tie persists after considering the mentioned criteria, the conducting authority may consider the candidates’ age. In such cases, the older candidate may be awarded a higher rank.
  4. Lucky Draw: A computerised lucky draw will determine the final rank if the tie remains unresolved after applying the above criteria. This random selection process ensures fairness in assigning ranks when all other factors are equal.
