CAT 2023 Result will be Declared in December 2023. CAT (Common Admission Test). Common Admission Test is a national-level management entrance that the Indian Institutes of Management will conduct.

It is conducted once a year. From this Year 2020, Examination will be conducted by IIM Kozhikode.

The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) started the examination, IIMs selecting students by using the test for their business administration programs. The CAT examination is a computer-based exam.

• The candidates will need to visit the official website of CAT.
• Then click on the link for “check the result of CAT 2023”.
• Enter the details such as Roll number and date of birth.
• Click on the “submit” button.
• The candidates can see the result displayed on the screen.
• They are advised to check the result and download it.
• Candidates must take a printout of the CAT 2023 Result.

The CAT 2023 result will be published on the official website of CAT. Applicants can check their results by entering their roll number and date of birth. The result will display only the qualifying/non-qualifying status of the candidates.

The qualified candidates will be eligible to get the “Certificate of Practice” in the Law profession.

Important Instructions for Examination

• The CAT examination is conducted in November 2023.
• The download admits card from the CAT website (https://iimcat.ac.in).
• Admit Card will not be available for download after the completion of the test.
• Read all the instructions carefully which are provided on the Admit Card.
• You need to reach the test center by 7:30 a.m. for the forenoon session or by 1:00 p.m. for the afternoon session
• Candidates who come late for the examination will not be permitted inside the test center.
• Only original Photo ID proof and Admit Card will be authorized inside the examination hall.
• Applicants who have to choose between using a scribe must also carry the duly filled Scribe Affidavit (available on the CAT website) along with the scribe’s photo ID proof (original plus a copy).
• Your Admit Card (plus scribe affidavit, if applicable) will be collected by the test invigilator and will not be returned to you. The invigilator will retain These.
• Any watch, mobile phone, earphone, microphone, pager, health band, or any other electronic gadget, any printed/blank/handwritten paper, pencil box, pouch, calculator, etc. are not allowed inside the examination hall.
• Candidates wearing shoes or any other closed footwear must leave the footwear (including socks) outside the examination hall. You can wear open footwear like chappals, sandals, etc.
• Your digital fingerprint scan will be captured on the day of the test. Candidates whose fingerprints cannot be digitally scanned for reasons like applying Mehndi/henna / any cosmetic colours etc. will not be permitted to take the test. You should avoid applying Mehndi on your hands (palm side) for at least five days before the test.

Reservation Requirement

As per the legal requirement, 15% of the seat is reserved for scheduled caste (SC) and 7.5% for scheduled tribe (ST) candidates. 27% of the seat is reserved for other backward-class candidates belonging to the “non–creamy” layers (NC-OBC).

To be considered for reservations, the applicable Central Government list as on the list date of CAT registration shall be binding. No subsequent changes will be useful for CAT 2016 and any subsequent selection process of the IIMs. For a central updated list of state-wise OBCs eligible for availing the benefit of the reservation and information regarding the creamy layers Website http://www.ncbc.nic.in.

As per the provision of section 39 of the PWD Act, 1995, 3% of seats are reserved for a person with a disability are:-

• Low vision blindness
• Hearing impairment
• Locomotor disability / Cerebral Palsy

This provision is applicable if the candidate suffers from any of the listed disability to the extent of not less than 40%, certified by a medical authority as prescribed and explains in the side act.

Candidates belonging to the reserved categories must carefully note the eligibility required before applying. It should be noted that while it is the endeavor of IIMs that the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD/NC-OBC categories join the Programme in proportions mandated by the law, they have to meet the minimum eligibility criteria and a certain minimum level of performance to be considered for the admission process.

The candidates should read the updated description of the selection process followed by each IIM on their respective websites. No change in the category will be entertained after CAT registration; hence, the applicants are advised to give attention while registering.

Admission Process

• Please note that each IIM shortlists candidates for the second stage of selection which may be independent of each other. The process may include Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interviews (PI).
• Performance in CAT 2023 examination is an important component in the admission process.
• IIMs may additionally use other factors like the previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience, and other similar inputs in shortlisting and ranking of candidates at various stages of the admission process.
