CATCAT 2021 Result has been Declared on 3rd January 2022. CAT (Common Admission Test). Common Admission Test is a national-level management entrance that has been conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management.

It is conducted once a year. Form this Year 2020, Examination has been conducted by IIM Kozhikode.

The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) started the examination, IIMs selecting students by using the test for their business administration programs. CAT examination is a computer-based exam.

The CAT 2021 result has been published on the official website of CAT. Applicants can check their results by entering their roll number and date of birth. The result will display only the qualifying/non-qualifying status of the candidates.

The qualified candidates has been eligible to get the “Certificate of Practice” in the Law profession.

Important Instructions for Examination

  • The CAT examination is conducted on 28th November 2021.
  • The download admits card from the CAT website (
  • Admit Card will not be available for download after the completion of the test.
  • Read all the instructions carefully which are provided on the Admit Card.
  • You need to reach the test center by 7:30 a.m. for the forenoon session or by 1:00 p.m. for the afternoon session
  • Candidates who come late for the examination will not be permitted inside the test center.
  • Only original Photo ID proof and Admit Card has been authorized inside the examination hall.
  • Applicants who have to choose between using a scribe must also carry the duly filled Scribe Affidavit (available on the CAT website) along with the Photo ID proof (original plus a copy) of the scribe.
  • Your Admit Card (plus scribe affidavit, if applicable) has been collected by the test invigilator and will not be returned to you. The invigilator will retain These.
  • Any watch, mobile phone, earphone, microphone, pager, health band, or any other electronic gadget, any printed/blank/handwritten paper, pencil box, pouch, calculator, etc. are not allowed inside the examination hall.
  • Candidates wearing shoes or any other closed footwear will have to leave the footwear (including socks) outside the examination hall. You can wear open footwear like chappals, sandals, etc.
  • On the day of the test, your digital fingerprint scan has been captured. Candidates whose fingerprints cannot be digitally scanned due to reasons like applying Mehndi/henna / any cosmetic colors etc. will not be permitted to take the test. It is strongly recommended that you avoid applying Mehndi on your hands (palm side) for at least five days before the test.

Reservation Requirement

As per the legal requirement, 15% of the seat is reserved for scheduled caste (SC) and 7.5% for scheduled tribe (ST) candidates. 27% of the seat is reserved for other backward class candidates belonging to the “non – creamy” layers (NC-OBC).

For the purpose of being considered for reservations, the applicable Central Government list as on the list date of CAT registration shall be binding. No subsequent changes has been useful for CAT 2016 and any subsequent selection process of the IIMs. For a central updated list of state-wise OBCs eligible for availing the benefit of the reservation and information in respect of the creamy layers Website

As per the provision of section 39 of the PWD Act, 1995, 3% of seats are reserved for a person with a disability are:-

  • Low vision blindness
  • Hearing impairment
  • Locomotor disability / Cerebral Palsy

This provision is applicable if the candidate suffers from any of the listed disability to the extent of not less than 40%, certified by a medical authority as prescribed and explains in the side act.

The candidates belonging to the reserved categories need to note the eligibility required carefully before applying. It should be noted that while it is the endeavor of IIMs that the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD/NC-OBC categories join the Programme in proportions mandated by the law, they have to meet the minimum eligibility criteria and a certain minimum level of performance to be considered for the admission process.

The candidates should read the updated description of the selection process followed by each IIM on their respective websites. No change in the category has been entertained after CAT registration; hence, the applicants are advised to give attention while registering.
