  • Visit the official website and click on the “Register” tab on the home page.

  • Applicants have to enter the Official Website of Panjab University.
  • Then they need to click on the ‘Online Application Form
  • Applicants have to fill in all the details in the Application Form.
  • Applicants must also upload a scanned copy of a passport-size photo & Signature, which should be less than 200 kb.

Eligibility Criteria For Master of Laws (L.L.M. One-Year Course and L.L.M. Two-Year Course)

  • Completing LL.B. 3-Year Degree / B.A. LL.B. / B.Com. LL.B. 5 Year degree from this University with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/BC/PwD candidates);
  • Passing an equivalent exam from another recognised University.

Eligibility Criteria For Master of Computer Applications M.C.A.2-Year Course and M.C.A. (Evening)(SelfFinancing) 2-YearCourse 

To be eligible for admission to the first year of the course, you should meet one of the following criteria:

  1. Hold a recognised bachelor’s degree of at least three years’ duration in any field with a minimum of 50% marks(*), and have studied Mathematics at the 10+2 level or during your graduation (all three years).
  2. Possess a B.C.A. degree from Panjab University with a minimum of 50% marks.
  3. Have completed B.Voc. degrees in Software Development, Hardware and Networking, or Multimedia (Graphics & Animation) with at least 50% marks and studied Mathematics at the 10+2 level.
  4. Have passed an examination recognised by Panjab University Chandigarh as equivalent to the options mentioned above (i), (ii), or (iii).
  5. SC/ST/BC/PwD candidates are eligible for a 5% concession in the eligibility requirements.

Eligibility Criteria For M.A. Journalism and Mass Communication

To be eligible for the program, you must meet one of the following conditions based on your academic background from a recognised university:

1. Possess a Bachelor’s degree in any field with a minimum of 50% marks overall.

2. Hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least 45% marks in Journalism & Mass Communication.

3. Have a Bachelor’s degree with Honors in Journalism & Mass Communication.

4. complete a Master’s degree examination in a different subject.

Eligibility Criteria  For Master in Public Health 

  • Candidates must have achieved a minimum of 50% marks in MBBS / BDS / BAMS / BHMS / B.VSC / B.Sc. Nursing, Life Sciences, or Biological Sciences from a recognized University or Institute.

Eligibility Criteria  For M.A. (English) 

To be eligible for admission, an individual must have completed one of the following exams either from Panjab University or any other recognized university:

  1. A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 45% marks in English Elective or English Compulsory subjects.
  2. A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with an overall score of 50%.
  3. B.A. (Hons.) in English.
  4. B.A./B.Sc. (Hons.) in a subject other than English, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
  5. Master’s Degree in any other subject with an aggregate of 50% marks.

The pass percentage for the English entrance test is now 35% (30% for SC/ST/BC/PwD candidates) from the 2013-2014 session onwards.

Eligibility Criteria For MA (Geography)

To be eligible:

  1. A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
  2. For B.A. or B.Sc. graduates, passing Geography with at least 45% marks is necessary. Alternatively, a Post-graduate diploma in Cartography with a second division is accepted.

Admission to the program will be granted through an Entrance Test. The merit list will be determined by:

  • Written Entrance Test: 50%
  • Qualifying Examination (Bachelor’s degree): 50%

Any additional academic or other weightage will be given based on the percentage of marks achieved in the Qualifying Examination, following Panjab University Rules.

Eligibility Criteria For Masters in Disaster Management 

To be eligible for the program, you should have completed a bachelor’s degree from Panjab University or any other recognized university with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. The admission process involves a mandatory Entrance Test. Except for government or institution-sponsored candidates, all applicants must successfully pass the Entrance Test conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh. 

Merit list preparation takes into account the following weight distribution:

  • Written Entrance Test: 50%
  • Qualifying Examination (Bachelor’s degree): 50%

Any additional academic weightage will be determined by the percentage of marks achieved in the Qualifying Examination, adhering to Panjab University Regulations.

Eligibility Criteria For Masters in Geoinformatics

  • To be eligible for admission, candidates need a Bachelor’s degree in fields such as Geography, Geology, Geophysics, Mathematics, Physics, Botany, Environment Science, Computer Science, Urban Planning, Regional Planning, B.Tech., or B.C.A.
  • Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Geography, Geology, Geophysics, Mathematics, Physics, Botany, Environment Science, Computer Science, Computer Applications, Urban Planning, or Regional Planning is acceptable.
  • The minimum requirement is a 50% aggregate score in the qualifying examination.
  • Admission is determined through an Entrance Test, except for candidates sponsored by Government/Semi-Government Organizations and Institutions.
  • The merit list calculation involves a Written Entrance Test score (50%) and Qualifying Examination (50%).
  • Candidates who studied Geography at the B.A./B.Sc./M.A./M.Sc. level receive an extra 15% weightage.
  • Academic and other weightage are based on the percentage of marks earned in the Qualifying Examination as per Panjab University Rules.
  • The Entrance Test lasts 1 hour 30 minutes and consists of 75 one-mark multiple-choice questions.

Eligibility Criteria For M.A. (History)

Eligibility Requirements: Choose any of the following options to be eligible for admission:

1. A B.A. degree with Honors in History.

2. A Bachelor’s degree in any field with a minimum of 50% marks overall.

3. B.A. (PASS) / B.Sc. (PASS) exam with at least 45% marks in History.

4. A Master’s degree in a different subject or faculty AND

The passing score for the history entrance test is 35% (30% for SC/ST/BC/PwD candidates).

Candidates must have cleared the written Entrance Test conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh. The merit list is based on marks from the Entrance Test and Qualifying Examination, with the following distribution:

  • Written Entrance Test: 50%
  • – Qualifying Examination: 50%

Additional academic weightage, if applicable, depending on the percentage of marks in the Qualifying examination.

Eligibility Criteria For M.A. (Economics)

To appear for the Entrance Test for admission to M.A. Economics in the Department of Economics at Panjab University, Chandigarh for the academic session 2019-20, candidates must fulfil the following conditions:

1. Hold a B.A. with Honours in Economics, OR possess a B.A. with Economics as an elective subject, securing at least 50% aggregate marks.

2. Possess any other degree from a UGC-recognized University / Institution equivalent to the abovementioned degrees.

Note: Candidates with reappear or compartment status during the first counselling are ineligible for admission, even if they clear these issues before subsequent counselling rounds.

Eligibility Criteria For Master of Social Work

The Entrance Test welcomes candidates with the following qualifications.

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University/Institute with a minimum of 50% marks in any field.
  • Candidates from SC/ST/BC/PwD categories are granted a 5% relaxation in eligibility criteria.
  • Those in their final year of a Bachelor’s degree can also apply, but their admission hinges on meeting eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria For M.E. Electrical Engg. (Instrumentation & Control) (Regular Programme)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Instrumentation and Control Engineering from a recognised university.
  • Minimum 60% aggregate marks in the degree.
  • 1 year of post-qualification experience required (2 years for AMIE) in teaching, industry, or research.
  • GATE-qualified candidates exempt from PU-CET (PG) 2024 Test.
  • Merit list for eligible GATE candidates based on GATE Score.
  • GATE-qualified candidates given preference for seat allocation.

Eligibility Criteria For M.E. (Electronics and Communication Engineering) (Regular Programme)

  • Qualifications: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Instrumentation and Control Engineering from a recognised university.
  • Marks: Achieve a minimum of 60% marks in your degree.
  • Experience: Gain 1 year of post-qualification experience (2 years for AMIE) in teaching, industry, or research.
  • GATE Qualified: If you have a GATE qualification, PU-CET (PG) 2024 Test is not required. Your GATE Score will determine your seat.

Eligibility Criteria For M. E. (Computer Science & Engineering) (Regular Programme)

  • Eligibility: Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, or Information Technology from a recognized University.
  • Minimum Marks: Achieve at least 60% marks in aggregate in the Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience: Possess post-qualification experience of 1 year in teaching, industry, or research organisation (2 years for AMIE candidates).
  • GATE Qualification: GATE-qualified candidates are exempt from PU–CET (P.G.) –2024 Test.
  • Merit List: Eligible GATE candidates ranked based on GATE score for seat allocation.
  • Priority: GATE-qualified candidates receive preference for seat allocation.

Eligibility Criteria For M.E. Civil Engineering (Construction Technology & Management) (Regular Programme)

  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent.
  • Attained a minimum of 60% marks overall
  • Possess a minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience (2 years for AMIE) in teaching, industry, or research
  • GATE-qualified candidates exempt from PU-CET (P.G.) 2024 Test
  • Merit list for eligible GATE candidates based on GATE score
  • Priority seat allocation for eligible GATE candidates

Eligibility Criteria For M.E. Mechanical Engineering (Manufacturing Technology) (Regular Programme)

  • Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engg./ Manufacturing Technology /Production Engg./ Industrial Engg./ Automobile engineering from a recognized University or equivalent with minimum 60% marks.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience (2 years for AMIE) in teaching / industry / research organization.
  • GATE Exemption: GATE qualified candidates exempt from PU-CET 2024 (P.G.) Test.
  • Merit for GATE candidates: Merit list based on GATE score; seats offered accordingly.

Eligibility Criteria For M.Com. (Business Economics) 

  • Eligibility: Bachelor’s/Post-graduate degree from Vikram University or a recognized university with 50% marks.
  • For Bachelor’s degree in Modern Indian Languages or Classical Language, full percentage of language marks, excluding English and elective subject, counts.
  • Option 1: Pass in final exam of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Cost and Works Accountants, or Company Secretaries of India.
  • Option 2: AMIE with 50% after diploma (60%) and 5 years research/teaching/professional experience.
  • Other qualifications recognised by the Syndicate are accepted.

Eligibility Criteria For  M.Com. (Master of Entrepreneurship and Family Business)

  • Eligibility for Bachelor’s/Master’s degree: Possess a degree from Vikram University or a recognized institution with at least 50% aggregate marks.
  • Qualification from Professional Institutes: Successfully clear final exams from renowned institutes like Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India, or Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

Eligibility Criteria For M.Com. (Honours) (Under Hons. School System at UBS) 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks
  • B.Com. (Hons.) Degree with at least 50% marks overall
  • Graduate with Honours in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Commerce, having 50% aggregate marks
  • Graduate with 55% marks overall, having studied Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Commerce
  • For candidates with degrees in Modern Indian Languages or Classical languages, 55% aggregate marks considering language, English, and elective subject
  • Associate of Institute of Chartered Accountants (India/England), Institute of Cost and Works Accountants (India/England), or pass in final exam by Institute of Company Secretaries of India
  • Other qualifications recognized by Syndicate
  • Qualifications (c), (d), (f) require special examination within a year (Commercial and Taxation Laws, Accounting and Auditing)
  • Max marks: 100 per paper; Pass marks: 35%; No internal assessment
  • 5% relaxation for SC/ST/BC/PwD candidates as per PU guidelines.

Eligibility Criteria For M.Com (Business Innovations) 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or Business Administration (B.B.A) with at least 45% aggregate marks.
  • B.Com (Hons.) Degree with minimum 45% aggregate marks.
  • Graduation with Honours in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Commerce with at least 45% marks.
  • Graduation with 50% aggregate marks in any other discipline from Vikram University or a recognised equivalent university.
  • For Bachelor’s degree in Modern Indian Languages or classical languages, 50% aggregate marks considering language, English, and elective subject.
  • Pass in final exam by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India, or Institute of Company Secretaries.
  • Other qualifications recognized by the Syndicate also accepted.

Eligibility Criteria For Master of Business Administration for Executives (Under Hons. School System at UBS)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 50% aggregate marks
  • Equivalent exam with 50% recognised by the University
  • Final exam from Institute of Chartered Accountants, Cost and Works Accountants, or Company Secretaries of India
  • Diploma in Personnel Management and Labour Welfare or Marketing Management with 60% aggregate marks, if the candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree
  • Plus, two years of full-time executive experience in commercial/industrial establishments after qualifying exam
  • Administrative/Technical Services and Defence Personnel with two years executive experience are eligible.
  • SC/ST/BC/PwD candidates get 5% mark relaxation as per PU guidelines.

Eligibility Criteria For Master of Physical Education (Two-Year Course) 

  •  B.P.Ed. degree or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks
  • Alternatively, a B.Sc. in Health and Physical Education with a minimum of 50% marks
  • Reserved seats and relaxed marks for SC/ST/BC/PWD candidates per government guidelines
  • Other qualifications considered equivalent by the University Syndicate are accepted.

Eligibility Criteria For Bachelor of Physical Education (Two-Year Course) 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in any field with 50% marks and participation in Inter-College/Inter-Zonal District/School sports recognised by AIU/IOA/SGFI/Govt. of India.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education with 45% marks is acceptable.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with 45% marks and compulsory elective subjects in Physical Education is eligible.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 45% marks and participation in National/Inter-University/State sports recognised by AIU/IOA/SGFI/Govt. of India, or 1st/2nd/3rd position in Inter-College/Inter-Zonal/District/School competition.
  • Bachelor’s degree with participation in International competitions or 1st/2nd/3rd position in National/Inter-University sports recognised by respective federations/AIU/IOA/SGFI/Govt. of India.
  • Graduation with 45% marks and at least three years of teaching experience for in-service candidates (Trained Physical Education Teachers/Coaches).
  • Other qualifications recognised as equivalent by the Syndicate are also considered.
  • Relaxation in marks and reservation of seats for SC/ST/BC/PwD and other categories follows Central/State Government rules.

M.Sc. (Environment Science) (Two-Year Course)

  • Obtain a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks overall.
  • The degree can be from any Science/Engineering field or any other subject.
  • Geography must be pursued as a major (Honours) subject.
  • Qualify from P.U. or any recognized University.

Eligibility Criteria For M.Sc. (Human Genomics) (Two-Year Course)

  • Eligibility: Pursue B.Sc. (Pass/Honours) under the 10+2+3 pattern from Panjab University or its recognised equivalent.
  • Fields: Choose from Physical, Chemical, Biological, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Medicine.
