AIMA MAT 2024 May Session Registration has been Started on 30th March 2024. Feb. Session Result has been Declared on 26th March 2024. The May Session Examination will be held on 2nd June for PBT Course and 26th May 2024 for CBT Course. The MAT 2024 is a national-level management aptitude test conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) four times a year in February, May, September, and December. AIMA is a non-profit organisation that was founded in 1929. AIMA conducts the MAT to provide a common platform for students to assess their aptitude for management studies. B-schools also use the exam to select candidates for admission to their MBA and allied postgraduate management programmes.

The MAT is conducted in three modes that are Paper-based test (PBT), Computer-based test (CBT) and Internet-based test (IBT). The PBT is conducted in a single session, while the CBT and IBT are conducted in multiple sessions. The application process for the MAT is online. Candidates can apply through the AIMA website.

The number of students appearing for the MAT entrance exam has steadily increased. The MAT 2023 was conducted in 200 test cities across India and abroad. In 2024, over 1.8 lakh students appeared for the exam. The exam is considered one of India’s most competitive MBA entrance exams. AIMA MAT 2024 May Session Registration has been Started on 30th March 2024. The May Session Examination will be held on 2nd June for PBT Course and 26th May 2024 for CBT Course. What is MAT?

The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a national-level exam conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) for admission to MBA/PGDM programs at over 600+ B schools in India. The exam is held four times yearly, in February, May, September, and December. The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) eligibility criteria are that the candidate must graduate from any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD) from a recognised university. Final-year graduation students are also eligible to apply. The candidate must be at least 18 years old on the exam day, and there is no upper age limit for the MAT exam. Only candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can submit an application form. Various colleges across the country accept MAT scores for admission to MBA programs.

The MAT question paper consists of 200 multiple-choice questions covering English, Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness. Each question carries one mark and a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. The total time duration of the MAT exam is 150 minutes. The exam is conducted in three modes: Paper-based Test (PBT), Computer-based Test (CBT), and Internet-based proctored test (IBT).

The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) 2024 Application Form has been released on 30th March 2024. The application form will be available online on the official website of AIMA. 

The last date to apply for MAT 2024 is 19th May 2024. The application form must be submitted online before the deadline. The admit card for MAT 2024 is released on 23rd May 2024. The admit card will be available online on the official website of AIMA. The MAT 2024 exam was held on 26th May 2024. The exam will be conducted in a computer-based format (CBT) at various test centres across India. 

MAT 2024 Application Form

MAT 2024 Application Form provides a detailed exam overview, including the syllabus, pattern, and eligibility criteria. This helps candidates to assess their suitability for the exam and to plan their preparation accordingly. The MAT 2024 Application Form has been released on 30th March 2024. The application form can be filled out online only through the official website of MAT, https://mat.aima.in/. The following are the steps on how to fill out the MAT 2024 application form:

  • Candidates will have to apply for the examination through online mode only. There will be no offline mode provided. This means that candidates cannot apply for MAT 2024 by sending a hard copy of the application form to the MAT authorities. 
  • The registration procedure for MAT 2024 has been started on 30th March 2024.
  • Candidates must provide personal, academic, and other information in the registration form to register. The registration form will ask for the candidate’s details, such as name, date of birth, email address, and mobile number. It will also ask for the candidate’s academic qualifications, such as graduation degree, graduation percentage, and graduation institute. 
  • After providing the details, candidates must upload a scanned copy of their passport-size photograph and signature in the prescribed format. The photograph must be recent, taken in the last six months. The scanned images of the photograph and signature must be in the prescribed format (size and resolution).
  • To complete the registration procedure, submit the application fee online. The application fee for the MAT 2024 is INR 2100/-. The application fee can be paid through online payment methods such as credit cards, debit cards, net banking, etc.
  • Candidates are advised to complete the registration procedure before the deadline, as the authority will deactivate the registration link from the website. The MAT authorities will announce the last date for registration for the MAT 2024 in due course. 
  • After submitting the application form, take a hard copy of the registration form for further use. The registration form will contain important information such as the candidate’s application ID, registration date, and application fee payment details. 

MAT 2024 Application Fees

The MAT 2024 application fee is non-refundable, so candidates should only apply for the exam if they are serious about taking it. And the fee is relatively low, so it should not be a major barrier for most candidates.

  • Online Mode Only: The MAT 2024 application fee will be submitted through online mode only on the official website of MAT. Candidates cannot pay the application fee by cash, cheque, or demand draft. 
  • Payment Options: The online payment gateways to submit the fee will be debit card, credit card, or net banking. Candidates can pay the application fee using their debit card, credit card, or net banking account. 
  • Refundable Application Fee: The application fee will be refundable to any candidates. If a candidate cancels their registration for MAT 2024, they will be refunded the application fee.

How to Fill out the MAT Application Form

  • Register as a New User: Click the “Register” or “New User” button to initiate the application process. You will be asked to provide basic information such as your email address and mobile number. 
  • Provide Personal Details: Fill in your personal information, including your full name, date of birth, gender, nationality, and category. Make sure to enter all of your details correctly.
  • Contact Information: Enter your contact details, including your current address, valid email address, and active mobile number. Make sure to provide accurate and up-to-date contact information. This is important in case the MAT authorities need to contact you.
  • Educational Background: Provide details about your educational qualifications, including the name of institutions attended, years of passing, and percentages/grades obtained. If you have any gaps in your education, be sure to explain them.

Required Documents 

The following documents must be uploaded while filling out the MAT application form:

  • Passport size photograph (in colour with white background): The photograph must have been taken within the last 6 months. It must be in colour, with a white background, and good quality. The size of the photograph must be between 40 KB and 100 KB.
  • Scanned signature. The signature must be scanned on a white paper. The size of the scanned copy of the signature must be between 10 KB and 40 KB.
  • Photo ID cards include Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, Voter ID cards, and Passports. The photo ID card must be a valid government-issued ID card with your photograph and other details.
  • Graduation marksheet. The graduation marksheet must be from a recognised university or institution.
  • Class 12th marksheet. The class 12th mark sheet must be from a recognised board of education.
  • Class 10th marksheet. The class 10th mark sheet must be from a recognised board of education.

MAT 2024 Application Correction

You can only make corrections to your application within the specified correction window. After submitting your application, you cannot change your test centre or exam date. If you need to make major changes to your application, you must create a new one. Here are the steps on how to do MAT 2024 Application Correction:

  1. Access the MAT 2024 Website and Log In: Open your browser and navigate to the official MAT 2024 website. Locate the login section and enter your credentials to access your account. This typically involves entering your registered email address and password.
  2. Navigate to the “My Applications” Section. After logging in, you’ll be directed to your dashboard. Look for the “My Applications” tab or a similar option, which usually appears on the main navigation menu or as a prominently displayed link.
  3. Locate and Select the Application: In the “My Applications” section, you’ll see a list of your submitted applications. Find the specific application that requires corrections and click on it. This will take you to a detailed view of that application.
  4. Initiate Application Editing: Within the detailed view of the application, you should find an “Edit Application” button or link. Click on this button to enter the editing mode for your application.
  5. Review and Make Corrections: Once you’re in the editing mode, you’ll be presented with the details you’ve previously entered. Review the information carefully and identify the sections that require corrections. Update the necessary fields with accurate and up-to-date information.
  6. Upload Additional Documents: If you need to submit new or updated documents as part of the corrections, there should be an option to upload these documents. This is often indicated by an “Upload Documents” or similar button. Click on it and follow the instructions to upload the required files from your device.
  7. Save Changes: After making all the necessary corrections and uploading any new documents, ensure you’ve reviewed your changes thoroughly. Once satisfied with the updates, click the “Submit” or “Save Changes” button to finalise your edits.
  8. Confirmation Email: The system will process your changes after successfully submitting the corrections. You’ll receive an email confirmation at the email address you provided during registration. This email will confirm that your application has been corrected and updated accordingly.

MAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates interested in the MAT 2024 exam must meet the eligibility criteria. Only those candidates who meet the eligibility criteria of MAT 2024 can submit an application form. Candidates who are currently in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply for the exam. 

There is no limit on the number of times a candidate can appear for the exam. Candidates can appear for the exam as many times as they want. Before filling out the application form, candidates must review the MAT eligibility criteria below:

Nationality.

According to the MAT 2024 eligibility criteria, candidates must be citizens of India. But, if you are not a citizen of India but an NRI, PIO, or foreign national, you may still be eligible to take the MAT exam. You must prove your NRI, PIO, or foreign national status when you apply for the exam.

Age Limit

There is no age limit for appearing in the exam. Candidates of all ages are eligible to appear for the exam.   

Qualifying Examination

  • Academic qualification: The bachelor’s degree must be from a recognised university or equivalent. The university must be accredited by a recognised body, such as the University Grants Commission (UGC) or the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
  • Discipline: The bachelor’s degree must be in any discipline. Candidates with degrees in arts, commerce, science, engineering, or any other discipline can apply for the MAT exam.
  • Minimum aggregate percentage: The minimum aggregate percentage required for appearing in the MAT exam is 50%. However, there are some relaxations for certain categories of candidates, such as Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs), who are required to score only 45%.
  • Final-year students: Final-year students are also eligible to apply for the MAT exam. However, they must submit proof of their enrollment in the final year of their degree program at the time of applying for the exam.

MAT 2024 Exam Pattern

The MAt 2024 exam pattern gives candidates an idea of the questions that will be asked in the exam and helps them plan their study time effectively. Exam pattern allows candidates to focus on the areas where they need to improve and helps them get familiar with the exam format and procedures.   1. Modes of Examination: The MAT 2024 exam will be conducted through three different modes:
  • Computer-Based Test (CBT): Candidates will take the exam on a computer, digitally interacting with the questions and options.
  • Paper-Based Test (PBT): This traditional mode involves candidates marking their answers on an OMR sheet using a pen or pencil.

  3. Total Questions: The 200 questions will be presented in the MAT 2024 exam. These questions will be spread across the 5 sections, each containing various questions.
  4. Type of Questions: Candidates can expect to encounter multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in the MAT 2024 exam. MCQs provide candidates with a question and options to select the correct answer. This format assesses candidates’ knowledge, reasoning, and decision-making skills.
  5. Marking Scheme: For every correct answer a candidate provides, they will be awarded 1 mark. This positive marking system encourages candidates to answer to the best of their abilities, rewarding their accuracy and knowledge.
  6. Negative Marking: MAT 2024 incorporates a negative marking scheme. 0.25 marks for every wrong answer will be deducted from the candidate’s total score. This aspect encourages candidates to answer only when reasonably confident about their response, aiming to avoid unnecessary deductions.

MAT 2024 Cut-off off

The participating institutes of MAT 2024 will release their cut-off scores on their websites. The cut-off score will be released only through the online mode. The cut-off score of each institute will vary depending on several factors, such as the number of seats available, the number of candidates who appeared for the exam, the past cut-off scores, and the institute’s admission criteria.

Candidates who meet the cut-off score will be called for the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. The cut-off score for the top MBA colleges is likely to be above 90 percentile. The cut-off score is the minimum score required to participate in the admission process.
