TNTEU B.Ed 2023 Application Form

A candidate needs to submit a single Application Form for B.Ed Course seeking admission to Government and Government Aided Colleges of Education. Candidates are advised to take a xerox copy of the coding sheet and fill in all the information correctly before filling in the original coding sheet.

Candidates have to submit filled in applications (coding sheet-as the free sheet) coupled with xerox copies of all the Mark Sheets, Co-Curricular Activity Certificates, and Community Certificate to “The Secretary, Tamil Nadu B.Ed. Admission, lady Willingdon Institute of Advanced Study in Education, Chennai – 600 005.”

Cost of Application: The cost of the application will be the next over the production of the attested xerox copy of the Community Certificate.

For SC/ST Candidates: Rs. 250/-

For other candidates: Rs. 500/-

Method of Payment: The cost of the application will have to be paid in either the case of in the form of Demand Draft drawn from any Nationalized Bank /Schedules Bank to the benefit of “The Secretary, Tamil Nadu B.Ed. Admission, Chennai”, payable at Chennai.

TNTEU B.Ed 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates with at least 50% of marks both in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Humanity are eligible. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology with knowledge in Science in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks are also entitled to admission to B.Ed Degree Programme.

The candidates should have undergone a 10+2+3 pattern of study and passed the qualifying examination conducted by the respective State Board or CBSE or any other distinguishes Board of Education/Examination and UG Degree Examination of the UGC known Universities in any one of the school themes presented by the Directorate of School Education at the Secondary/Higher Secondary Education level.

The three-year Diploma in Engineering will be equated to the +2 course for eligibility intended for admission.

Candidates who have gone through the UG or PG Degree under the Open University System without a 10+2 pattern of School Education examination will not be eligible for admission.

TNTEU B.Ed 2023 Selection Procedure

The selection of the eligible candidates would be carried out purely on a merit basis. Candidates are called for the counseling process based on their submitted application. Candidates have to show up for counseling along with the required original documents for verification. Candidates will not be considered for the selection if he/she fails to submit a report to the specified time and date for counseling with all the certificate in original.

Merit List

The percentage of marks obtained by candidates in the UG/PG Degree will be taken as the base mark for the drawing-up of rank list/merit list. In case of the decisiveness of inter-se-merit of candidates whose marks on the leaderboard, the final ranking of applicants will be announced based on the following, in order of merit.

• Marks secured by the candidate in the Major Subject
• Marks secured in Allied-I Subject
• Marks secured in Allied-II subject
• By random method
• Common and community-wise rank list will be retained for each optional subject on an individual basis. Weightage for the highest qualification in the same subject will be given as follows and is added to the base mark for ranking.

Subject code 1 to 10

• Candidates with PG – 4 marks
• Candidates with M.Phil – 5 marks
• candidates with Ph.D. – 6 marks

Subject code 11 to 19

Candidates with PG – No marks

Candidates with M.Phil – 1 marks

candidates with Ph.D. – 2 marks

A weight of 3 marks for participation in any one of the following co-curricular activities will be added.

Reservation of Seats

Reservation of seats for candidates to belong to the BC, MBC/DNC, SC and ST communities will be done according to the rules and regulation of the Government of Tamil Nadu, as follows:

TNTEU B.Ed 2023 Counseling

Applicants are required to appear in the Counseling process to get select for admission. The date, time, and venue of the Counseling will be published on the website. No application for a change of date/time of Counseling is allowed.

A the moment of Counseling, the candidates belonging to the OC/BC/MBC/DNC category have to submit a Demand Draft for RS. 2000/- and SC/ST category for Rs. 1000/- as Counseling fee. The DD should be drawn in favor of “The Secretary, Tamil Nadu B.Ed. Admission Chennai”.

The provisionally chosen candidates have to join the allocated college within the date notified in his/her admission order, failing which his/her allowance will be canceled and the seat is considered to have fallen vacant.
