  • Spectroscopy is explained in detail in the YR Sharma and Pavia. One should refer to one of the two books for spectroscopy.
  • Medicinal Chemistry should be studied from Foye’s textbook of Medicinal Chemistry, but for the classification part, you must refer to S.N. Pandey’s textbook of Medicinal Chemistry.
  • The analysis part should be studied from Vogel’s or Chatwal’s analysis textbook.

Besides these books, you should also refer to Indian Pharmacopoeia for the study of microbiology and to refer to other essential topics for the preparation of GPAT. For objective questions, one can refer to either Piyush’s or Inamdar’s textbooks for GPAT preparation. Both books are different in style and extremely helpful in preparation for the GPAT.

GPAT Exam Format

  • The GPAT Examination is conducted online mode.
  • The candidates will take the test on a pre-assigned computer at the assigned test centre.
  • There are 125 questions in the test, and the total marks will be 500.
  • The duration of the test is 180 minutes.
  • Negative Marking – 4 marks will be given for every correct answer, and one mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
