For the June Session, the UGC NET 2024 June Session Application Form has been Released on 20th April 2024. According to the most information, the UGC NET 2024 notification is released on 20th April 2024. The UGC NET 2024 Exam is scheduled from 16th June 2024 for Session -I. After the exam, the answer key will be released in the fourth week of March 2024. Candidates will have an objection period in the same week to raise any concerns or discrepancies regarding the answer key. The UGC NET 2024 exam results will be announced in April 2024. UGC NET 2024 Notification

UGC NET 2023 December Session Application Correction has been Started on 1st November 2023. Application Form Last Date has been Extended till 31st October 2023. Application Form has been Released on 30th September, 2023. According to the notification, the application form for UGC NET 2023 has been released. The Examination for the December Session will be held from 6th – 22nd December 2023. This marks the commencement of the application process, allowing interested candidates to apply for the examination. It is essential for candidates to carefully fill out the application form, providing accurate and complete information.

The UGC NET 2024 examination is scheduled from the 10th to the 21st of June 2024. This duration spans multiple days and sessions to accommodate many applicants.   • Educational Qualification Certificates: Scanned copies of all the educational qualification certificates, including mark sheets and degree/ diploma certificates.

UGC NET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

UGC NET 2024 Eligibility Criteria are required to be checked before applying the application form. Candidates who hold a Master’s degree in disciplines such as Humanities and Social Sciences (including languages), Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science, etc., with a minimum of 55% marks from universities or institutions recognised by the UGC (University Grants Commission) or equivalent bodies are eligible to apply for UGC NET 2024. However, for candidates belonging to the OBC/ SC/ ST/ PWD/ Transgender categories, a minimum of 50% marks in their Master’s degree is required to be eligible for UGC NET 2024.

Nationality

Candidates must be Indian nationals. However, there is no restriction on the nationality of candidates applying for the Assistant Professor only.

Age Limit

There is no upper age limit for candidates appearing for the UGC NET examination for the post of Assistant Professor. 

However, the maximum age limit for candidates applying for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) is 30 years as of the UGC NET examination date. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved category candidates as per government norms.

Relaxation

Age relaxation is provided to candidates from different categories:

  • OBC-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer): Up to 3 years of relaxation in the upper age limit.
  • SC/ ST/ PWD/ Transgender: Up to 5 years relaxation in the upper age limit.

Qualifying Examination

Candidates must have completed a Master’s degree or equivalent from universities or institutions recognised by the UGC. The qualifying percentage of marks varies according to the category:

The UGC NET exam follows the reservation policy of the Government of India. This policy applies to Central Universities and Institutions considered as Universities. The reservation percentages are as follows:

  • 10% of seats are reserved for the General-Economically Weaker Section (GEN-EWS) category.
  • 15% of seats are reserved for the Scheduled Caste (SC) category.
  • 7.5% of seats are reserved for the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.
  • 27% of seats are reserved for the Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non Creamy layer (OBC-NCL) category.
  • Each category also has 4% horizontal reservations for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) as defined in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act, 2016).

UGC NET 2024 Exam Pattern

According to the UGC NET 2024 exam pattern, the examination will comprise two papers. Both papers will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). There will be no break between the papers. Importantly, there is no negative marking provision, meaning no marks will be deducted for incorrect answers. Each correct response will be awarded 2 marks. The total duration of the examination will be 3 hours.
