The Sikkim Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) is organized through Human Resource Development Dept, Sikkim to select Teachers for Classes I-V (Primary Level), Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Level). Sikkim Teachers Eligibility Test will be organized at the state level twice a year. Sikkim Human Resource Development Department is also known as the Sikkim HRDD.

STET Application Form 2023

The STET Application Form will be available on the official web page of the Human Resource Development Dept, Sikkim, and those candidates who are interested and eligible to get teachers post for Classes I-V (Primary Level), Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Level), can fill the Application Form through online mode by visiting on the official webpage.

• On the official web portal, the official authorities of the Sikkim Human resources development (HRD) department will release the complete notification of the entrance exam.

STET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

• Nationality: The citizens of India are eligible to apply for the entrance exam.
• Lower Age limit: The lower age limit for the aspirants to apply for the entrance exam is not less than 21 years of age.
• Upper Age Limit: The upper age limit for the aspirants to apply for the entrance exam is not more than 35 years of age at the time of the entrance exam.
• Age Relaxation: Reserved category application such as the SC / ST / PH category has 5% of age relaxation in the upper age limit as per the board norms.
• Domicile: Those aspirants who hold a domicile certificate of Sikkim state are also eligible to apply for the entrance exam.
• Appearing aspirants: The aspirants who are appearing for the final year of their graduation are also eligible to appear for the entrance exam.

Eligibility Criteria for Primary level class

• Educational Qualification: To appear for the primary level entrance exam, the aspirants must have qualified their HSC exams or must be appearing in the final year of 4 – years of Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) / 2 – years of diploma in education (D. El. Ed) / 2 – years of diploma in education (special education) from a recognized university or institution.Those aspirants who have completed a bachelor’s degree of B. A / B. Sc from a recognized University is also eligible to appear for the entrance exam.
• Minimum Marks: Aspirants who have secured more than 45% marks in the qualifying exam are eligible to appear for the primary level entrance exam.

Eligibility Criteria for Upper Primary level class

• Educational Qualification: The aspirants who want to appear for the upper primary level entrance exam must have qualified graduation B. A / B. Sc degree and B.Ed degree from a recognized university or institution or must be appearing in the final year of 4 – year Bachelor in elementary education (B. El. Ed) / B. A (B. Ed) / B.Ed B. Sc (B. Ed), (special education) from a recognized University.
• Minimum Marks: The aspirants who have secured a minimum of 50% marks or more in their qualifying exam are eligible to appear for the upper primary level entrance exam.

STET 2023 Exam Pattern

• Mode of Exam: The aspirants will have to appear for the STET entrance exam in offline mode as a written test.
• Duration of Exam: The aspirants will get a maximum of 3 hours’ duration to solve the entire question paper of the entrance exam.
• Total Number of Questions: Maximum of 150 questions will be asked in the question paper of the entrance exam by the official authorities.
