The Xavier Aptitude Test is the most prominent and competitive national-level management entrance exam which is conducted for the aspirants involving in diverse postgraduate management courses the behalf of XAMI, the XLRI Jamshedpur has organized the All India management level entrance examination, which is known as XAT Entrance Examination. This examination is conducted to provide admission to the candidates in various management programs.

There are 150 business schools providing admission to the candidates on the basis of marks of the candidates in the XAT Examination. The XLRI provides various professional courses in PGDM and doctoral level programs and through this article; applicants will be able to know detailed information of XAT in which includes XAT 2023 Counseling and Admission procedure.

XAT 2023 Admission Procedure

On the official website, the merit list will appear to the candidates and those applicants are shortlisted in the merit list, they will be able to attend the interview procedure conducted through authority. The selected students can download the call letter by entering the application ID and primary email ID.

The call letter will provide to the candidates after the declaration of Result and there are the various institutions select the candidates for admission.

 XAT 2023 Cut Off

There is the previous year cut off marks available for the candidates and they will be selected as per the cut off marks for the counseling procedure.

XAT Selection Procedure 2023

Following are the steps as mentioned below for candidates to be selected for admission and they have to follow it.

• Fill Application form

Interested and Eligible candidates can fill the Application form of the entrance examination of XAT and they should have to register themselves successfully through online mode.

• Merit List Declaration

Those candidates have given this examination and scored qualified marks in this examination, they will be shortlisted in the merit list. The participated institutes will provide the cut-off marks and the applicants will be shortlisted as per the cut off marks.

• Selection Rounds

The XLRI and its member institutes and around 150 other B-schools which accept XAT scores for their admission process will conduct GD, PI and Essay Writing as the selection rounds before announcing the final list of selected students for admissions in the various management programs.

• Final selection

Candidates will get admission in the various participating institutes after declaring the final list to provide admission to the candidates in the management programs.

The selection procedure will be conducted in the month of February-March 2023. The XLRI and its 11-member institutes, around 150 B-schools across the country will also accept the scores of XAT 2023.

The Stages of XAT 2023 Counseling

• Registration

Registration is the initial stage in the XAT 2023 counseling which is completed by filling in the form with requisite details. The only purpose for doing the registration is taking part in the counseling.

After entering the necessary details in the form, you will have to submit the fee as without paying the fee you will not be able to proceed the further admission procedures.

• Fee Payment

After the registration, you will need to pay the fee for the courses chosen by you. Those from India will have to submit the fee RS.1500 and RS.250 with each optional courses.

The foreign and NRI students will require to pay RS.50 and RS.25 for each optional course. They will be submitting the fee by an online medium such as credit card, debit card, net banking, cash payment, and DD.

• XLRI Confirmation Page

You need to download the XLRI page and get it sent with the payment evidence, Pay-in-slip, DD to the Admission Office, XLRI, Circuit House Area (East), Jamshedpur – 831001 within fifteen days. Attach the copies of 10th, 12th and graduation mark sheets.

• Choice Filling and Locking

When aspirants are done with registration, they will need to provide the name of courses as per choices as you will be given a seat on the basis of filled choices.

Once you have filled the choices, it will be locked and secured and after that, no modification can be made. So it is commanded to provide the courses with careful considerations.

• Seat distribution

The seat distribution is the main stage in the counseling procedures as after completing all procedures, you are taking part in the seat distribution where you are provided with the seat as per your choice at the college.

Those achieving higher marks and rank will be able to take part in the counseling. After getting the desired seat, aspirants will have to go for authentication of documents.

Post Graduate Diploma in Management- Business Management (PGDM-BM):

Stage 1: Selection as per XAT score

Stage 2: Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). The GD typically lasts for 30 minutes, with 8-10 participants.

Post Graduate Diploma in Management- General Management (PGDM-GM):

Stage 1: Shortlisting based on XAT or GMAT score.

Stage 2: Personal Interview (PI), in person, or over G-Talk/ Skype for overseas candidates.

PGDM (BM), Part-Time (JSR):

Stage 1: Selection as per the aptitude test (which class 10th level questions on quantitative ability, English language skills, and logical reasoning). Candidates may be required to provide the scores of credible MBA examinations in which they may have appeared.

Stage 2: Personal Interview (PI) at XLRI Jamshedpur

Post Graduate Diploma in Management-Global MBA (PGDM- GMBA):

Stage 1: Shortlisting based on XAT or GMAT score.

Stage 2: Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).

Post Graduate Diploma in Management- Human Resources Management (PGDM- HRM):

Stage 1: Shortlisting based on the XAT score.

Stage 2: Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). The GD typically lasts for 30 minutes, with 8-10 participants.

When they are done with the above rounds, there is an estimation of final marks on the basis of priority allotted to various assessment materials like XAT score, GD, PI, Essay Writing, past academic records, work experience, and the overall status of the student.
