JEE Advanced Exam Pattern 2019 includes the type of questions, the Marking system, the exam mode, etc. This is a national entrance exam. Quick facts about JEE Advanced Exam Pattern 2019

  • JEE Advanced 2019 will be conducted for two papers – Paper I and Paper II. Candidates must appear in both the papers as it’s mandatory.
  • Both Paper I and Paper II will have questions from 3 sections – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • The entrance test will be conducted in the computer-based test mode.

  • Date of Exam: The exam will be held on 27th  May 2019.
  • Exam Mode: The IIT JEE Advanced exam will be conducted through online (Computer Based)mode only.
  • Number of Papers: The examination consists of 2 papers. It is mandatory for the candidates to attempt both the papers.
  • Number of Sections: There are three separate sections in both the papers, namely Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • Question Paper Type: The question papers will contain objective type that includes MCQ as well as numerical answer type questions.
  • Exam Timings: Total 3 hours will be provided for each paper. Timings for paper-1 will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and for paper-2, the timings will be 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

JEE Advanced consists of two articles: paper 1 and paper 2.

The two articles comprise three sections, namely physics, chemistry, and mathematics. The questions are numerical and objective.

The JEE advanced curriculum will contain topics in chemistry, physics, and mathematics. Some main subjects of the curriculum are given below:

Chemistry: Concept of atoms and molecules, neutralization, the Absolute scale of temperature, root mean square and most probable velocities and their relation with temperature, Bohr model, the spectrum of hydrogen atom, quantum numbers, etc.

Physics: Units and dimensions, dimensional analysis, Kinematics in one and two dimensions, Linear and angular simple harmonic motions, Hooke’s law, Young’s modulus, etc.

Mathematics: Algebra of complex numbers, addition, multiplication, conjugation, Trigonometric functions, their periodicity and graphs, Cartesian coordinates, the distance between two points, section formulae, etc.

AAT Exam: Exercises in geometrical drawing containing lines, angles, triangles, Understanding and appreciation of three-dimensional forms, Composition exercise with given elements, Context mapping, etc.

Geometrical Drawing

Drawing lines, angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, polygons, circles, etc. Study of plan (top view), elevation (front or side views) of simple solid objects like prisms, cones, cylinders, cubes, splayed surface holders, etc.

Three-dimensional Perception

It includes three-dimensional forms of building elements with specifications such as color, volume, and orientation. It also includes visualization of structuring objects in memory.

Imagination and Aesthetic Sensitivity

Composition exercise with given elements. Context mapping. Creativity check through the innovative uncommon test with familiar objects. The sense of color grouping or application.

Architectural Awareness

General interest and awareness of famous architectural creations – both national and international, places and personalities (architects, designers, etc.) in the related domain.

Freehand Drawing

It includes simple drawing depicting the total object in its right form and proportion, surface texture, relative location and details of its parts in appropriate scale. Candidates are asked to draw objects related to day to day life such as furniture, utensils, etc.
