Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Short EssayDr. Ambedkar Mahaparinirvan Divas will be observed on Wednesday, 6th December. It will be 64th Dr. Ambedkar Mahaparinirvan Divas (death anniversary) will be observed.

Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar had died on 6th December 1956 that’s why Dr. Ambedkar Mahaparinirvan Din or death anniversary is observed every year on 6th December all over the India to pay him a lot of tribute and honor. He is called “The Father of the Indian Constitution”. The people of India pay him tribute by offering flowers, garlands, ceremonial lamps, candles and literature at his elegantly decorated statue.

How it is celebrated:

On this day a large crowd of people visit the parliament house complex in the morning in order to pay honor and respect by chanting the most famous slogan “Baba Sahib Amar Rahe.” Some people including Bodh Bhikshus sing several scared songs at this occasion. A large crowd of people from all over the country gets thronged at the “Chaitya Bhoomi” (Dr. Ambedkar’s memorial) at Dadar in order to pay reverence to the great architect of the constitution of the India, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. All the facilities like toilets, water tankers, washing rooms, fire stations, telephone centers, health care centers, reservation counter and etc. become available at this day at Chaitya Bhoomi for ease of the people.

The Samata Sainik Dal Salute is taken at midnight at 5th December by his daughter-in-law, Meeratai Ambedkar. After giving salute, a recitation of his teachings takes place and then the stupa gates get opened for all.

Why Dr. Ambedkar Mahaparinirvan Divas is celebrated:

This day is celebrated every year by organizing a function by the city corporation and SCs and STs State Government Employees Association to commemorate the great contribution of the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar towards the country. His great efforts help a lot to keep the country united. The constitution of India written by Dr. Ambedkar is still guiding the country and helps it in emerging out safety even after he has passed through several crises.

The foundation of Dr. Ambedkar has been set up by the Indian government on 24th march 1992 so, that the people all over the country can get his message of social justice.

Activities of the Foundation: The Dr. Ambedkar Foundation have followed several activities which are as follows:

  • They had set up the Dr. Ambedkar National Public Library at the Janpath.
  • They made available the works of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in all the regional languages including Hindi.
  • They Organized a variety of conferences, workshops, exhibitions, lectures, seminars, symposiums and fairs which was based on the life as well as mission of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
  • They offered Dr. Ambedkar National Award to the weaker sections and Dr. Ambedkar International Award for the social changes
  • Every year they organize the birth anniversary celebration on the 14th of April and death Anniversary on 6th December of Dr. Ambedkar.
  • They had launched the Dr. Ambedkar National Merit Award Schemes to distribute the award among meritorious students belonging to SC/ST.
  • They published the monthly magazine of Samajik Nyay Sandesh in Hindi Language.
  • The Dr. Ambedkar chairs were available in the universities for running the research activities over the thoughts of Dr. Ambedkar.
  • They offered Dr. Ambedkar National Relief to the victims of violence related to the SC.
