AILET 2020 4th Provisional Merit List for LLM Course has been released on 19th October 2020. The Merit List has been released now. All India Law Entrance Test is well known as AILET. This exam is conducted every year on the first Sunday of May by National Law University (NLU), New Delhi. Candidates will get admission By their score in AILET. Through these candidates can get admission in BA LLB (Hons), LLM, and Ph.D. Programs Offered at NLU, New Delhi.

Eighty-three seats are available for the BA LLB (Hons) course and 40 in the LLM course. Through this exam, candidates can get admission in 1 year LL.M, 5-year B.A. LL.B., and Ph.D. programs. After qualifying for this exam, candidates will be able to get admission to National Law University in all over India.  In the BA LLB program, there are 73 seats available for admission on merit through AILET followed by ten places that are open for direct access to Foreign Nationals on merit.

The rest of one position is reserved for Kashmiri Migrants and two seats for residents of Jammu and Kashmir. For 35+5 seats are for LLM program admission for Foreign Nationals. AILET Application Form 2020

Candidates want admission needs to fill application on the official website of NLU, New Delhi. Through online mode, candidates will be able to fill the demand.

The Application Form for the AILET entrance exam has been provided to candidates from 15th January 2020 (of the exam year).

Candidates can get here the Application Form details:

  • Candidates have to register themselves first.
  • AILET 2020 Application Form can be filled in online mode.
  • After logging in the registration id, candidates have to click on ‘National Law University.’
  • AILET 2020 Registration has been started from 15th January 2020.
  • Candidates can be applied till 10th August 2020.
  • Fill all the details in the user registration form.
  • Candidates are informed to fill valid e-mail ID and mobile number.
  • A scanned photograph/signature (between 10 KB to 100 KB) will be uploaded in JPEG format.
  • At last, submit and save all the details.

AILET 2020 Application Fee

Candidates have to pay application fees according to candidate category wise. General Category candidates have to pay Rs 3,000, SC/ST Category/Persons with Disability (PWD) –Rs 1,000, and for SC/ST candidate from below the poverty line there is No Fee.

Application fees payment can be made through online mode (debit card/ credit card/ net banking).

  • Candidates can pay the application fee through online mode. The application fee is Rs. 3000/-(for general candidates) and 1000/- (for SC/ST and Persons with Disability candidates). BPL candidates of SC/ST category are exempted from the application fee.
  • Candidates can make payment through a payment gateway of net banking/credit card/debit card.

AILET 2021

The AILET 2021 Exam is managed by the National Law University, Delhi to offer admission to the applicants in undergraduate law programs at the National Law University, Delhi. The AILET 2021 Application Form will be available from 1st week of January to the 3rd week of April.

AILET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates have to check the criteria to apply for AILET for BA LLB (Hons) course admissions. Candidates had to pass the 10+2 examination and scored a minimum of 50%.

And also candidates can apply who are appearing for 10+2 examinations in the year of the AILET can also apply provided they meet the above condition at the time of admission. Check the criteria before filling the application for admission.

Eligibility Criteria for different courses for AILET 2020

For B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) Course:

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidate must qualify 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board.
  • Minimum Marks: Must obtain at least 50% marks in the qualifying exam.
  • Age Criteria: There is no upper age limit to apply.
  • Appearing Candidates: Appearing candidates can also apply.

For LL.M. Course:

Qualifying Exam: A candidate must pass the LL.B. or equivalent degree from a recognized university.

  • Minimum Marks: Candidate must obtain at least 55% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST/PH candidates).
  • Appearing Candidates: Candidates those looking in the final year of LL.B. are also eligible to apply.

For Ph.D. Course:

Qualifying Exam: Candidate must hold a master’s degree in Law from the recognized university.

  • Minimum Marks: Candidate must secure 55% marks or its equivalent (50% marks for reserved categories).

AILET Exam Pattern 2020

In AILET entrance exam for BA LLB (Hons) course question comprises of 150 questions which candidates have to complete in 1 hour 30 minutes.

AILET exam pattern is such that the test paper is divided into five sections.

Five sections are such as English, Basic Mathematics, General Knowledge, Legal Aptitude, and Logical Reasoning.

Candidates can score 150 Maximum marks on the AILET Entrance Exam.

  • Date of Exam: The Exam will be held on 26th September 2020.
  • Duration of exam: Examination will be of 90 minutes.
  • Total marks: The maximum marks will be 150.
  • Number of Questions: A total of 150 questions will be there in B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) while in the LL.M. course, there will be 100 MCQ questions and one essay type question on the law.
  • Type of questions: The question paper will be composed of multiple-choice questions.
  • Marking scheme: For one correct answer, one mark will be given.
  • Negative marking: There is no negative marking.

AILET 2020 Syllabus

Candidates appearing for the law entrance exam have to complete the paper within one and a half hour duration.

  • The AILET Exam is divided into five sections.
  • The section which are English, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, Basic Mathematics, and Legal Aptitude.
  • B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) Candidates should read subjects such as English, general knowledge (current affairs, general science, history, geography, economics, and civics), the reasoning of legal skills, and notions of elementary mathematics (numerical ability). Ph.D. candidates can study the master’s program.


English section will include the questions from vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, word usage, Para jumble, grammar, reading comprehension, and foreign words/ phrases, etc.

Legal Aptitude

In this section, important topics are strict liability, the law of crimes, torts, vicarious liability, contracts, and constitutional law, legal awareness and international law, etc.


Logical reasoning will be based on the topics series, directions, syllogism, analogies, blood relations, critical reasoning, etc.

GK and Current Affairs

This section will include questions from current affairs, sports, awards and honors, internal events, UN bodies, history, general science, economics, geography, civics, eminent personalities, etc.

AILET Admit Card 2020

Authority will announce Admit Card one month before the exam. The AILET 2020 Admit Card has been available to the students who will successfully submit their online Application Form. The Admit Card will be available on 15th September 2020 in online mode.

AILET 2020 Answer Key

AILET 2020 Answer Key has been released via online mode. The exam authority will release the answer key after a few days of examination.

The Answer Key will be available in PDF format. Through the answer, key candidates can calculate their scores in the examination.

Candidates can take a printout of the answer key for future reference.

AILET 2020 Result

Candidates who attempt the exam can download the Result. The result has been available on the official website of the exam.

To download the AILET Result, candidates need to enter their registration/roll number as well as the password on the official portal.

And also candidates have to attain in the counseling process for admission by the AILET entrance exam score.

AILET 2020 Merit List

Merit list will be declared rank wise and category wise for the qualifying candidates. The merit list will be prepared by Cut Off marks. The authority will release cut off for each law program.

AILET Counselling 2020

National Law University conducts counseling after the release of the Result. After the declaration of the result, AILET 2020 Counseling will be conducted by the authority.

Counseling will be held in offline Mode at the campus of National Law University, Delhi. Counseling will be done by the merit list.

Candidates will be allowed seats in colleges/universities those who have scored good marks in the entrance exam. Counseling will be started on the 4th week of September 2020.
