The Higher Education Department of Odisha has been playing a vital role in improving the quality of education by establishing a value-based society and shaping the youth to meet the challenges and difficulties of the 21st century.

The opening up of the institutions of national repute like IIT, IIT & NISER in the state has not only made the state of Odisha an educational hub but also thrown open some challenges and opportunities before the Higher Education Department has all-out efforts to strengthen the existing education system and simultaneously taken innovative steps to open up new opportunities for the students by imparting need-based market-oriented education.

The Higher Education Sector in Odisha comprises Degree and Post Graduate level education including the Higher Secondary and +2 Vocational Education. This sector also includes institutions offering courses for legal studies, Computer Application, Business Management and several other professional courses.

The production of quality textbooks and reference books for different client groups of Higher Education is also one of the parts of this sector in the state. This also deals with a number of research and specialized institutions.

The DTET, Odisha, Cuttack under the administrative control of SD&TE Department, Government of Odisha of the State Looks after education at Technical Institutes/Colleges, Degree, Diploma and ITI level. It also provides Vocational Education in order to prepare the Youth for self-employment. The Department also promotes professional courses in Government and Private Sector.

The SAMS operates through pre-fixed dates for all its activities. It helps in creating awareness and transparency & timely completion of activities. These dates will be finalized for online admission in the Government ITIs in the State through Student Academic Management System (SAMS).

Industrial training institutes are brought into the SAMS fold from the academic session 2018-19. E-admission is compulsory in all government ITI’s in the state of Odisha for the academic session 2018-19.

The applicant can apply multiple choices (institution + trade) in one application and submit at any government ITI’s which are declared as SAMS resource centers for ITI.  If someone is applying more than one CAF’s are liable to be rejected.

Odisha ITI Common Application Form (CAF) 2018

The CAF or the Common Application Form has been designed in a way that, an applicant can apply to any trade of any Government ITIs of the State in one form. The candidate seeking admission has to fill the application form ONLINE by logging on to the website

Odisha ITI Eligibility Criteria 2018

Every candidate applying for the ITI Odisha should make sure they check the following requirement needed to meet the eligibility criteria required to seek admission.

  • Candidates having an age of 14 years and above as on 01.08.2018 (no upper age limit) are permitted to take admission in Trades/Units affiliated to NCVT.
  • The minimum eligibility for admission to ITI classes shall be a pass in 8th standards of High School Examination or Annual High School Examination of Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha or its equivalent.
  • Application of the candidate fulfilling the eligibility criteria will be placed before the selection committee and selection will be done based on merit.
  • Candidates having a higher education will be getting special weightage during the selection.
  • Marks secured at the 10th Board Examination out of the total marks, weightage & reservation (if applicable) will be taken into consideration in preparing the merit list.
  • The trade of choice can be allotted as per choice mentioned in the application form as well as the availability of seats.
  • In case there are no applicants in any of the reserved categories, the seats will be de-reserved and filled up by the general category applicants.
  • No seats shall remain reserved for any category beyond the normal date of admission i.e. after 2nd selection of admission.
  • SC/ST applicants selected for admission on merit basis shall not be counted against reserved seats. They shall be treated as general category applicants for admission, but their social category will remain unchanged.

ITI Odisha Intimation 2018

Candidates will be intimated for the E-admission process by communicating will the help of the following five modes:

  • SMS (if the mobile telephone number is provided in the CAF)
  • Email (if the e-mail address is provided in the CAF)
  • An applicant can get the information by dialing Sanjog Helpline Toll-Free (155335 OR 1800-345-6770) Number by giving their Money Receipt-Cum-Index Number on all Government working days.
  • A selected applicant can download the intimation letter directly from the website
  • Noticeboard of Applied ITI (where applications are submitted) and Destination ITI (where an applicant is selected to take admission)

ITI Odisha Admission Procedure 2018

The applicants should follow the below-mentioned procedure in order to seek admission in the ITI Odisha.

  1. The selected applicants have to produce an Intimation Letter (or Applicant Copy, in case s/he does not possess the Intimation letter) before the admission committee at the ITI where s/he got selected for admission on the date and time mentioned therein.
  2. The applicant has to produce all original documents for verification. S/he has to pay the requisite admission fees.
  3. S/he has to submit three color passport size photographs at the time of admission.
  4. Those who want to continue in the first ITI allotted to them in the first selection are required to pay the admission fees Bank Draft/ Cheque/ Cash. But those who opt for next selection can take admission, their admission fees will be adjusted within ITIs.

ITI Odisha Institute Strength Report 2018

  • The Odisha ITI has released the link to the list of Academic Session wise Institute Strength Report on its official website.
  • The applicants who wish to seek admission can check the availability of the seats at the various ITI’s districts.
  • The applicants are required to first select the ‘District name’, then ‘Block’ and click on the ‘Show button’.
