AILET Admission ProcedureAILET 2019 6th Merit List has been Released on 14th August 2019 for B.A.LL.B.(Hons.). AILET- Joining a law course is a serious step. It holds the power to change our perception of life, society and more importantly our existent role in the administration of justice and upholding the ideals of the Constitution of India.

AILET 2019 4th Merit List has been Released on 10th July 2019 for LLM. NLU is dedicated to equipping its candidates with the best tools of knowledge to meet the emerging challenges in the global Profession of Law Firm.

The AILET is conducted by National Law University (NLU). It is designated as the All India Law Entrance Test. It allows candidates to take admission in B.A.LL.B.(Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D. courses.

Almost 20 seats in B.A.LL.B are announced every year, in LL.M, around 40 seats, and in Ph.D., around 05 seats are opened. The exam may take place in May month of 2019.

Eligibility criteria are a minimum of 50% marks. Relaxation in marks is as per Govt. Rules. Admission for Indian nationals will solely depend on performance in AILET, while Foreign nationals may be exempted from writing this test.

AILET 2019 Result 

  • AILET 2019 Result has been uploaded on the official website at nludelhi.ac.in/ailet2019aspx
  • On reaching the homepage, you will see the icon- AILET Result” highlighted in the right-hand corner of the screen
  • AILET 2019 Result has been Declared on 28th May 2019 for B.A.LL.B.(Hons.).
  • Click the notice- the result will be on the list
  • You would be able to see results either by Roll number wise or marks wise or category wise etc.
  • 40% of the marks in the AILET (30% for SC/ ST candidates) would be the qualifying criteria
  • Last year, a total of 17475 candidates appeared for the exam. The exam was topped by Devansh Kaushik who scored 98.25 marks.

AILET 2019 Answer Key 

  • The AILET 2019 Answer key will be published online on the official portal nludelhi.admissionhelp.com/nlu/login.aspx
  • AILET 2019 provisional Answer Key & Question Booklet has been Released on 8th May 2019.
  • There will be a link that the NLU will embed on the page
  • The page will open an OMR based response sheet
  • You will be able to see solutions of 150 questions marked a circle in the sheet.
  • Match your answers with the key and avail an idea of the marks that can be awarded to you.

AILET 2019 Admit Card

  • AILET 2019 Admit Card is released on 22nd April 2019.
  • Visit the official website at nludelhi.ac.in/let 2019.aspx
  • The icon- “Click here to Download AILET 2019 Admit Card” will be available on the homepage.
  • On clicking, you will be directed to a new window, read the instruction cautiously by Registrar
  • Then again click- Click Here For Admit Card
  • To search admit card by Applicant Name and DOB- Enter Course applied for, Applicant’s name and Applicant’s Date of Birth. Then submit.
  • To search admit card by Application No. and DOB– Enter Application No. and Date of Birth. Submit these details.
  • Carry a color copy of this Admit Card

How to Fill AILET 2019 Application Form

  • Sign up first on the official website at nludelhi.admissionhelp.com
  • Create a new account by clicking “Register to apply now link.” Read the instructions on the page about eligibility criteria, selection process, and reservation guidelines.
  • AILET 2019 Registration has been 4th January 2019. 
  • The last date to submit the form can be till 15th April 2019 Extended.
  • Fill the details into User AILET 2019 Registration Form.
  • Confirm Registration details by clicking on the Confirm button.
  • Once you Login, you will see “Application-Locker.” Click on NLU from the List of colleges
  • Choose your application form and click on Apply Button.
  • Fill all details on the form
  • Click Submit for saving all details and proceeding back to the Application Locker for making payment for all pending application forms.

Application Form Fees AILET 2019

  • The amount payable cannot be confirmed yet for 2019 AILET. However, you may avail an idea from the previous year fee charges.
  • As per that info., Rs.3,050/- is asked to be submitted by General Category
  • Rs.1,050/- is asked from  SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities (PD)
  • The amount may be paid using a credit card/ debit card/ net banking etc.
  • Below Poverty Line, (BPL) applicants of SC/ST Category might be exempted from paying any fee.

AILET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The AILET 2019 can get you admission into B.A., LL.B. (Hons.)/ LLM and Ph.D. courses. First, let us see what criteria can be used to shortlist eligible candidates.

Eligibility criteria for B.A. LL.B

  • Individuals applying, other than Foreign Nationals category, must appear in AILET. The selection will be based on the performance in the test.
  • Foreign nationals- must have obtained 65% in the qualifying examination
  • Degree requirement– 12th class pass will be mandatory
  • Marks requirement- a minimum of 50%.
  • Qualifying exam was appearing- candidates going to appear in the 12th board in 2019 may also apply.
  • Relaxation- 15% for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates and 5% for Persons with Disabilities.

Eligibility criteria for LLM

  • Degree requirement- LL.B. or an Equivalent Law Degree
  • Marks requirement- at least 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disabilities).
  • Final year appearing candidates- those who will be appearing in the final year LL.B. Examination in April/May 2019 may also apply.
  • Relaxation– 15% for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates and 5% for Persons with Disabilities.

Eligibility Criteria for PhD

  • Degree requirement– LL.M. Degree
  • Marks requirement- 55% Marks or it’s Equivalent (50% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disabilities).

AILET 2019 Expected Exam pattern

The exam pattern varies for each course included under AILET. Let us see the exam pattern for all of them in brief with the help of tables and bullet points.

(I) Exam Pattern for BA LLB (Hons.)

  • Total marks- 150
  • Number of questions- 150 questions
  • Duration for the completion of test- 1 hour 30 minutes
  • NEGATIVE MARKING- 0.25 marks for one incorrect answer will be deducted

The question paper will have 150 MCQ. 1 mark for a correct answer and 0.25 negative marks for incorrect answers. Questions will come from depending on the course you choose. For BA.LLB.- Subjects are- GK, Legal aptitude, reasoning, English, etc.. For LL.M- subjects are- Contract law, criminal law, constitutional law, legal theory, etc.

(II) Exam Pattern for LL.M Course

  • There will be around 100 MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) objective in type. Meaning, you will see four alternatives for 1 question. The only one will be correct. If you get that right. (+1) will be awarded.
  • Duration- 90 minutes
  • Then there is one essay writing question of 50 marks.
  • You will answer the essay topic on a separate sheet.
  • NEGATIVE MARKING- 0.25 marks for one incorrect answer will be deducted

(III) Exam Pattern for Ph.D. Programme

  • You may see 100 MCQs of 1 mark each.
  • The questions will have four options, and you will have to mark the single correct one.
  • NEGATIVE MARKING- 0.25 marks for one incorrect answer will be deducted

Preparation Tips for AILET 2019

  • Candidates should start their preparation as soon as possible.
  • While preparing, make sure that you implicate these small and effective routine habits to ace the AILET.
  • Read newspapers every day to catch up with the current affairs.
  • For your subject concepts, dedicate minimum 7-8 hours.
  • The exam will be of not long duration. Therefore, you should attempt mock tests at home in an exam atmosphere like conditions so that you can understand how much time you would need to spend on one section.
  • Solve AILET previous year question papers.
