GIPE referred as Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics. GIPE is a one among the oldest research and training institutes in Economics in India. The GIPE University was established in 1930 and situated in Pune, India. GIPE is affiliated to UGC (University Grants Commission) and NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council).

Recently GIPE has issued a notification that they are going to conduct an entrance exam for the M.Sc program in various disciplines. GIPE is conducting entrance exams for the academic years 2018-19 for candidates. The entrance exams are only for the M.Sc program in Economics, Financial Economics, Agribusiness Economics, International Business Economics, and Finance.

 Application Form GIPE

Candidates can apply through the online mode. The application will be available for the month of June or July and the Last Date for Submission of Application Form is last week of May. Candidates have to apply before the due dates if candidates submit after the due date application will not be accepted

GIPE Eligibility Criteria

Different courses have different eligibility criteria. Candidate’s wishes to apply have to check that they are eligible to apply or not. Candidates sometimes fail to know criteria that affect them at the time of filling the application form.

Candidate should know basic information such as Qualification requirements, age criteria, and minimum marks etc. Candidates who have a Bachelor Degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks in total from any recognized university or institute

  • Candidate must have a Bachelor Degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks in total from any recognized university or institute.
  • A candidate who belongs to the reserved category must have a Bachelor Degree in any discipline with at least 45% marks in total from any recognized university or institute.
  • Those candidates who are waiting for the result of final degree exams of academic year 2018-19 are also eligible to apply.



GIPE  Exam Pattern


Candidates appearing GIPE entrance exams should know exams pattern, exams dates, and syllabus etc. Details are provided so candidates will get familiar with all detail and they will get help them in studies.

Candidates have to complete their paper in 2 hours no extra time will be given as per boards rules and regulation. The Multiple Choice Question will be asked from 4 option candidates have to select any one correct answer.

For an incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted from the paper automatically. The question paper consists of 100 Multiple Choice Question. Below is given few points of exams pattern of GIPE.

GIPE Admit Card

Admit cards/ Hall ticket is a mandatory document which contains detail about candidates like name, address, roll number, seat number, exams date, Exams time etc. Candidates appearing must compulsorily carry their hall ticket and Identify Proof at the time of Exams if candidates fail to bring candidates will not be allowed to write the paper.

Candidate must keep hall ticket print copies so they can use it further when they need. Candidates can download the admit cards from the official portal through online mode. Candidates who successfully submitted their application can only download hall ticket. Keep safe until the end of exams

GIPE Answer Key      

Authority will publish GIPE answer key on official portal after the exam is over. Candidates can download the answer key through the online mode. Candidate after writing exam get curious to know whether they have to write the correct answer or not. And search correct answer in Google, book and text books etc. With the help of GIPE answer, a key candidate can roughly check their answer and can assume about their performance in the examination.

Objective: The objective of this course is to develop an understanding of the basic principles of microeconomics. It intends to improve students’ analytical skills and ability to solve problems, which will be useful in several other areas of economics.
