KEAM 2020 Exam Date has been Announced now, the Exam will be held on 20th – 21st April 2020. KEAM 2020 Full form is Kerala Engineering, Agriculture and Medical. KEAM 2020 is State level Entrance Exam organized by Kerala State. It is Exam Conducted by CEE (Commissioner of Entrance Exams). Candidates can get admission in Engineering, Agriculture, Architecture, Pharmacy, Medical & Allied Courses is every year in the Kerala States.

This exam is a gateway for providing admissions to professional degree courses in various fields like engineering, agriculture, and many others. It is also referred to as the Kerala engineering entrance or Kerala medical entrance exam. KEAM (Kerala Entrance) is organized by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Kerala.

As of 2020, the KEAM exam was organized only for engineering courses. For admission to allied medical and educational medical courses, including agriculture, the candidate must qualify the NEET exam, and for the architectural course, candidates must remove the NATA Exam.

KEAM 2020 Application Fee

Candidates can check here some major details about the KEAM 2020 Application Fee

  • General candidates – Rs.1000/-
  • SC candidates – Rs.500/-
  • ST candidates – No Application Fee
  • The application fee can be paid either with Security Card, which can be purchased from the selected Post Office or by the Demand Draft (DD).
  • The DD should be drawn from a Nationalized/Scheduled Bank, in favor of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram.
  • The application fee will be  1000/-for General and Rs. 500/- for SC.
  • There is no application fee for ST.
  • The candidates can remit through credit card/debit card/Internet Banking.
  • In case of payment through e-challan, the payment can be made in all Head/Sub Post Offices in Kerala, in cash.
  • Candidates who will choose the ‘Dubai’ as Examination Centre have to remit an additional fee of Rs.12,000/– through an online payment.

KEAM 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants have to check their Eligibility Criteria for the courses they are applying:

Nationality: 

  • Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
  • Persons of Indian Origins (PIO)/Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) can also apply for the examination.
  • Students belong to Kerala state are categorized as Kerala people, Non-Kerala-people category I and Non-Kerala-people Category II.

Age Criteria:

  • The minimum age limit should be 17 years as on 31st December 2020.
  • There will be no upper age limit to apply.

Qualification Criteria:

Medical & Allied (MBBS, BDS, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Siddha, Unani, Agriculture, Veterinary, Fisheries, and Forestry)At the state level, no entrance exam will be organized. Qualify NEET exam & satisfy the nativity conditions stipulated in KEAM 2020.

Medical & Allied Courses

  • MBBS/BDS/BSMS: Candidates must pass in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in the 12th with 50% marks in Biology/Biotechnology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology put together.
  • BAMS/ BHMS: Candidates those have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 12th with 50% marks in Biology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together.
  • BUMS: Candidates must have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent examination with 50% aggregate marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology and 50% marks in Biology separately.
  • B.Sc.(Hons.)Agri., B.Sc.(Hons) Forestry, BFSc: Candidates those have passed 10+2
  • With 50% marks in Biology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together are eligible. Biotechnology will not be considered as a subject for academic eligibility.
  • BVSc. & AH: Candidates should have secured not less than 50% aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology for the qualifying examination.
  • B.Pharma: Candidates those have passed 10+2 with 50% marks in Biology/Mathematics separately and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Mathematics put together.

KEAM 2020 Age Eligibility

  • Minimum Age: Candidates must complete their age of 17 years as or on 31st December of the year of admission.
  • Maximum Age: There is no upper age limit.

KEAM 2020 Qualification Eligibility

  • Qualification: Candidates seeking admission in engineering courses must have passed 12th or equivalent exam from any recognized board.
  • Percentage: Candidate must have obtained minimum 50% marks in PCM It is necessary to score 50% marks in mathematics individually.
  • Appearing Candidates: Students appearing in the Higher Secondary examination are also eligible to apply.

Academic Qualification:

Engineering:

  • Candidates should pass 12th from Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent to it, with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50 % marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry put together.
  • Candidates those have passed Higher Secondary Examination with 45% are eligible for admission under Management Quota in Private Self Financing Engineering Colleges/Government Controlled Self Financing Engineering Colleges.

Architecture:

  • Candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board with Mathematics as a subject by securing 50% marks in aggregate.
  • OR 10+3 Diploma (any stream) with 50% aggregate marks with Mathematics as one of the subjects of the examination.
  • OR International Baccalaureate Diploma, after ten years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination.
  • The candidates those will score the minimum eligibility marks in NATA 2020 will be considered for admission to B. Arch. Course.

KEAM 2020 Exam Pattern

  • Mode: The examination will be conducted in pen & paper-based mode.
  • Types Of paper: The exam will be held in two papers.
  • Duration: Total duration is 5 hours, i.e., two and a half hour for each paper.

Non-Kerala People Category I (NK I)

  • A candidate who is not of Kerala origin but fulfills any one of the following conditions will be categorized as ‘Non-Kerala people Category I'(NK I). A candidate who has undergone a qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non-Kerala people parents belong to Government of India/Defence
  • A candidate who has undergone a qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non-Kerala people parents belong to Government of India/Defence Service posted to Kerala.
  • A candidate who has undergone a qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non-Kerala people parents who are serving/served Government of Kerala for a minimum period of two years.
  • A candidate who is not of Kerala Origin but has been a resident of Kerala State for 5(five) years within 12(twelve) years of his/her study.
  • Non-Kerala people Category I candidates will be considered against ‘State Merit’ seats for Engineering/Architecture/Medical & Allied courses and will not be eligible for Communal/ Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation or any fee concession.

Non-Kerala People Category-II (NK II)

  • Candidates who do not come under ‘Kerala people’ or ‘NonKerala people Category I’ will be treated as ‘Non-Kerala people Category-II.’
  • They are eligible for admission to the Management Quota seats in Self-financing Engineering institutions under Government control. Non-Kerala people Category-II candidates are qualified for access to Government Seats and Management Quota Seats in Private Self Financing Engineering/Architecture Colleges. But they will not be eligible for Communal/ Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation or any fee concession.
  • Non-Kerala people Category-II candidates are eligible for admission to Government Seats and Management Quota Seats in Private Self Financing Engineering/Architecture Colleges. But they will not be eligible for Communal/ Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation or any fee concession.

KEAM 2020 Academic Qualification

  • For MBBS, BDS, BSMS: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognized equivalent to it, with 50% marks in Biology/Biotechnology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology put together, are eligible. In the absence of Biology, Biotechnology will be considered as a subject for academic eligibility.
  • For admission to BAMS/ BHMS courses: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognized equivalent to it, with 50% marks in Biology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology put together, are eligible. Biotechnology will not be considered as a subject for academic eligibility.
  • For admission to BUMS course: Candidates seeking admission to BUMS (Kamil-E-Tib WaJarahat) course must have passed Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognized equivalent thereto, with 50% aggregate marks in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology and 50% marks in Biology separately and (a) the candidate should have passed 10th or 12th standard with Urdu or Arabic or Persian language as a subject or (b) pre-Tib examination of one year duration.
  • For admission to B.Sc.(Hons.)Agri., B.Sc.(Hons) Forestry, BFSc courses: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognized equivalent to it, with 50% marks in Biology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology put together, are eligible. Biotechnology will not be considered as a subject for academic eligibility.
  • For admission to BVSc. & AH Course: Candidates should have secured not less than 50% aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology for the qualifying examination, in addition to the condition as stipulated in clause 6.2.1(a)(iv)of the Prospectus as per regulation 5 of Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education Degree Course (BVSc & AH) Regulation, 1993. Relaxation in marks is permissible as stipulated in clause 6.2.4 of the Prospectus.
  • Eligibility of BSc. Degree holders: Candidates who have passed the BSc Degree (Three year course) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany or Biotechnology as Main, and any one or two of the above subjects as Subsidiaries, with 50% marks for Main & Subsidiaries taken together, subject to the condition that they have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations recognised as equivalent thereto with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects are eligible for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, and BSMS courses.

(b) Engineering-Courses:

  • Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent to it, with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50 % marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission.
  • However, candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent as to it, with 45% marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission under Management Quota in Private Self Financing Engineering Colleges/Government Controlled Self Financing Engineering Colleges.
  • In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, the marks obtained in Computer Science shall be considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, and Computer Science, the marks obtained in Biotechnology shall be considered.
  • In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, Computer Science and Biotechnology, the marks obtained in Biology shall be considered. The marks as shown in the mark list of the Board of Examination obtained from the respective Higher Secondary Board shall be considered for academic eligibility.

KEAM Admit Card 2020

Along with the valid admit card, candidates have to bring the photo ID approved by the Government of India. Without having valid I proof candidate cannot enter in the examination hall.

  • KEAM Hall Ticket 2020 will be provided online via the site. Candidates can obtain the admit card during the last week of March 2020.
  • Applicants must enter their date of birth and application number to download the admit card. The admission card will not be mailed to any candidate.
  • The personal details of the candidate and the details of the examination location, examination time, exam date, etc., will be mentioned on the admit card.

KEAM 2020 Answer key

  • KEAM 2020 The Answer key will be issued after the few days of the exam. Candidates can view the response key on the site.
  • With the help of the answer key, the candidate can check their answers. For any complaints related to the response key, candidates must pay Rs. 100 / – per question before the last date.
  • Fees can be paid through SD to EWC, payable to Thiruvananthapuram.

If any candidate has any complaint regarding the answer keys, the same should be submitted to the CEE in writing along with supporting documents and a fee of Rs.100/- per question by way of DD in favor of CEE, payable at Thiruvananthapuram, within 5 days from the date of publication of the answer keys.

KEAM 2020 Result

Candidates can download their scorecard by entering the application number or user name. The rank lists for Engineering, Architecture, B.Pharm, MBBS/BDS, Medical & Allied (except MBBS/BDS/BAMS) and Ayurveda will be published separately.

  • The Result of KEAM 2020 will be announced in the fourth week of May 2020. Candidates can post their results through the online mode through the site.
  • A separate list of merits will be prepared for all courses based on the qualifications obtained by the candidate.
  • The merit list will be prepared by 50:50 criteria, i.e., 50% for KEAM scores and 50% for grades on the qualifying examination.

KEAM 2020 Counselling

The KEAM 2020 Counseling will be commenced from the fourth week of June 2020. The common counseling will be done by the CEE through online mode. Candidates have to fill their preference at the time of counseling.

  • KEAM Admission Process will be started after the release of the merit list. The process of seat allocation will be made by the Centralized Allotment Process(CAP).
  • It will be done through the Single Window System (SWS). In the counseling process, candidates have to fill the stream/colleges of their choices and lock the options. Seats will be allotted to candidates as per the merit list, filled choices & availability of seats in colleges.
  • After the process of seat allotment, students are needed to appear at their allotted college to complete the admission process.

A centralized allotment process will be done through the Single Window System (SWS) to offer allotments to various courses & colleges.

The admission to engineering courses will be made on the basis of merit by giving equal weightage of 50:50 to the marks secured in exam & the marks secured in PCM subject together in the qualifying exam.
