KVPY 2020 Aptitude Test Result has been declared on 23rd April 2021. The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is a national-level fellowship program. The Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, has established this program in the year 1999. The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana is organized to provide scholarships up to the pre-Ph.D level to the selected candidates.

KVPY entrance test is a national level entrance test organized for the selection of eligible candidates by Aptitude Test & Interview organized by IISc. Through this entrance exam, candidates are provided scholarships up to the Pre-Ph.D. level for their selection. Eligible candidates awarded the scholarships will be able to pursue their careers in Research Science.

The Indian Institute of Science is located in Bangalore set up a Management Committee and a National Advisory Committee (NAC) for overseeing its implementation. From this content, students can get detailed information about KVPY.

KVPY Application Form 2020

Those students are seeking to get admission in their aspiring programs, they can fill the Application Form of KVPY through online mode and the application form details as mentioned below.

  • The KVPY 2020 Application Form has been released on 6th September 2020.
  • KVPY 2020 Application Form Date for the closing of online application (Registered candidates only) 30th October 2020.
  • Before the last date of submission, applicants can fill the application form.
  • The application process will consist of certain steps – Registration, Filling details in the application, uploading documents, making exam preference, and making the application fee payment.
  • Applicants must have to carry all of the required documents at the time of submitting the application form, and the documents should be scanned images (photograph, signature & scanned copy of caste/medical certificate (only for PWD).
  • Students can fill the application form and successfully submit it on the official website.
  • They are suggested to take a print out of the application form for future use.

Application Fee

Candidates have to pay Rs. 1250/- (for general/OBC category) & Rs. 625/- (for SC/ST/PWD category) as a registration fee.

The fee can be deposited through two modes, i.e., online mode (credit card/ debit card/ internet banking) and offline mode (Challan).

KVPY 2021

The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) 2021 is the National Program of Fellowship in Basic Sciences organized by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, to attract exceptionally highly motivated students to get admission in basic science courses and research career in science.

In the Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bangalore, the admission will provide to the candidates.

The KVPY 2020 Application Form will be available from the 3rd week of July to the 4th week of August 2021.

KVPY Admission 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Students should have to check the eligibility criteria before filling the application form and the eligibility criteria details have given below.

The nationality of candidates should be the Indian Citizen.

Stream Eligibility
SA Candidates who enrolled themselves in Class 11th (science stream) must apply for this exam. Minimum Marks: Candidates must pass class 10th with Mathematics & Science subjects with a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD).
SX Qualifying Exam: Candidates who have taken admission in class 12th (science subjects) can apply. Minimum Marks: Candidates must score a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) in Mathematics and Science subjects (PCB) in Class 12th. Candidates also have to obtain at least 75% (65% in case of SC/ST/PWD) in class 10th.
SB Qualifying Exam: Candidates who enrolled in the 1st year of the UG program in Basic Science (Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics & Biology)- B.Sc/BS/B.Math./B.Stat./MS/Int. M.Sc) can apply for this exam.

Minimum Marks: Candidates must score at least 60% (50% in case of SC/ST/PWD category) in 10+2 examination. In the first year of their final exam in B.Sc/BS/B.Math./B.Stat./MS/Int. M.Sc, students must secure 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD).

Eligibility Criteria

For SA Stream:

  • Qualification: Candidates must have passed their 10th level from a recognized board.
  • Mandatory Subjects: Candidates must have passed the 10th level with compulsory subjects of Science & Mathematics.
  • Percentage: Candidates must have scored a minimum of 75% marks (65% for reserved category candidates).
  • Appearing: Students who are appearing in the 11th level are also eligible to apply.

For SX Stream:

  • Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 12th level or equivalent examination.
  • Mandatory Subjects: Candidates must have passed the 12th level with Science subjects (PCB / PCM).
  • Percentage: Candidates must have scored a minimum of 75% marks in class 12th (65% for reserved category candidates).
  • Appearing: Candidates who will be appearing or waiting for their 12th level results are also eligible to apply.

For SB Stream:

  • Qualification: Candidates appearing in the first year of their UG degree are also eligible to apply.
  • Mandatory Subject: Candidates studying in a UG degree in Basic Sciences must have science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology leading to B.Sc. /B.S. /B.Stat/B.Math. /Int. MS. /Int. M.Sc.
  • Percentage: Candidates must have scored 60% marks (50% for reserved category candidates) in Mathematics & Science in 12th

KVPY 2020 Exam Pattern

Applicants should have to prefer the Exam Pattern for the better preparation of examination and the exam pattern details as mentioned below.

  • Exam Mode: The aptitude test will be conducted online (Computer Based Test) mode.
  • Date & Shift: It will be organized on November 4, 2018. It will be started from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM for Stream SA. For Stream SB/SX, the exam will begin from 2 PM to 5 PM.
  • The medium of Question Paper: The question paper will be asked both in English & Hindi Language.
  • Type of Questions: It is a multiple choice type question paper. All the questions are compulsory to attempt in Stream SA. There is an option to attempt any three sections in PART I & any two sections in PART II in Stream SB/SX.
  • Duration of Exam: The duration of the aptitude test will be three hours.
  • Sections: The question paper will contain two sections: PART I & PART II. There will be four sections in PART I & PART II.
  • Total Marks: The question paper will consist of 100 marks.

  • Exam Mode: KVPY 2020 entrance exam will be conducted through online mode.
  • Medium: The language of the paper will be in English & Hindi medium.
  • Questions Type: The paper will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQ) in the paper.
  • Attempts: In the SA stream, it is compulsory to attempt all questions. While in SB/SX stream, students have an option to attempt any three sections in Part I and two sections in Part II.
  • Time Duration: A total of 3 hours will be given to complete the test.
  • Maximum Marks: The entrance exam will be of 100 marks.

KVPY 2020 Syllabus

Candidates can prepare for the KYPY 2020 entrance test from the topics of 10th, 12th, and 1st year UG syllabus as per the selected stream.

There will be no prescribed syllabus for the entrance test. The aptitude test will be designed to test analytical ability & understanding of a candidate’s knowledge.

Mock tests will also be conducted by the board so that candidates get familiar with the pattern of written examination.

KVPY Admit Card 2020

Those students have successfully submitted their application form; they can download the Admit Card through online mode.

Students should have to enter the required logging details to download the admit card, but before downloading, the applicants have to check all of the details mentioned on the admit card.

With the admit card, applicants should have to carry the required documents, and the documents should be

  • KVPY admit card 2020 (original as well as copies)
  • Two passports sized photograph as uploaded on the KVPY Application form
  • School Id or any Photo Identity Card

To download the Admit Card candidates have to enter their application number. The admit card will contain all the details regarding the KVPY 2020 entrance exam like exam date, time, venue, exam instruction, etc.

Once an exam center is allotted, no request for change will be entertained by the board.

KVPY 2020 Answer Key

Before the result announcement, the board will also release KVPY 2020 Answer Key in online mode. Through the answer key, candidates will be able to assume their marks scored in the entrance exam.

Candidates will be able to check the Answer Key as per their streams were chosen by them.

Candidates will be able to check the answer key by the 4th week of November 2020. To access answers, key candidates have to enter their login credentials.

KVPY 2020 Cut Off

The board will release KVPY 2020 Cut-Off marks for various streams and categories. Candidates will have to score the cut off marks or more than the cut-off marks to qualify the entrance test and get admission.

The cut-off will be released through online mode by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc).

KVPY Result 2020

Those applicants have given the examination of KVPY, they can check their result through online mode, and the applicants will be shortlisted in the merit list by their result.

The result of the candidates will be available in the PDF mode and the result will include roll number, the application number, name, and rank of the candidates.

The merit list will be prepared and released for each stream (SA, SB, and SX) separately. Candidates who will reach the minimum cut off will be listed in the merit list.

It will be prepared by the candidate’s performance shown in the entrance test. The candidates who will get short-listed will be further called for selection or counseling process.

The following are the procedure of admission in KVPY has provided below for the students.

Candidates will get a call for the KVPY 2020 Selection Process by their performance of the examination. The selection process will include interview rounds. The board will organize interviews for the qualified & selected candidates in the third week of January 2021 till the last week of February 2021.

Based on the merit list, students will be call out for the counseling procedure and there will be the interview round to provide admission to the candidates. Students should have to be informed about the date, place, and time of the interview procedure and they must have to be present there.

Admission will provide to the candidates as per the performance in the interview procedure, and students should have to report at the college.

Candidates will be informed about interview rounds through SMS or mail. For the document verification process, candidates have to bring the following documents:
