TS LAWCETTS LAWCET 2020 Exam Date has been Announced on 24th December 2019. The Exam will be held on 25th May 2020. Telangana Common Law Entrance Test in short TS LAWCET which is Conducted for two courses of LLB (5 years). Osmania University conducts this entrance exam on behalf of Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE), Hyderabad.

This exam is organized to offer admission in three years and five year UG law courses for the academic year of 2020-2021.

Through this candidates can get admission into 3 and five year LLB courses offered in Universities of Telangana and their affiliated colleges. TS LAWCET exam was conducted for the first time in 2015; there was a single law entrance exam called LAWCET that was held to offer admission in law programs provided in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

There is the division of the state, two separate entrance exams for law admissions were conducted which was TS LAWCET and APLAWCET. Various colleges in Telangana state give admission to law courses by TS LAWCET scores. TS LAWCET Application Form 2020

Candidates have to fill and submit the application before the due date as mentioned.

  • TS LAWCET 2020 Application Form will be released in the fourth week of March 2020.
  • Candidates can fill their application forms for TS LAWCET online on the official website of the exam.
  • The online TS LAWCET Application Form will be available from the 3rd week of March 2020, and the Last date to apply without the late fee will be the 3rd weeks of April 2020.
  • Candidates must keep print copies of filled application form for further reference.

Application Fee:

All candidates have to pay the registration fee to apply for TS LAWCET.

  • The application fee for TS LAWCET is  350/-
  • Candidates who are in the SC/ST category have to pay Rs/. 250/- fo application.
  • It can be paid through online mode such as by using (credit card/debit card).
  • And it can also be paid through TS/AP online centers/Mee Seva Centres/e-Seva centers in AP and Telangana.

Eligibility Criteria 2020

To apply candidates must check TS LAWCET Eligibility Criteria. Check the criteria whether you are eligible to apply or not.

  • Candidates are eligible for TS LAWCET for admission in 5 year LLB programs which have cleared two-year Intermediate exam (10+2 pattern) or any other examination, recognized as equivalent, by the University concerned or the Board of Intermediate Education, T.S and Bar Council of India with the minimum aggregate of 45%.
  • Candidates have to check that belonging to SC/ST category will be given 5% relaxation in aggregate percentage in the qualifying mentioned above for examination.


  • Students must belong to the Indian National and must satisfy the local/non-local status.
  • Students those belong to other than Indian National should follow the rules framed by the university.

Age Criteria: There is no age limit for LLB (3 years and five years) courses.

General Eligibility:

  • Nationality: Only Indian Nationals candidates are eligible to apply.
  • Domicile: Candidates will have to satisfy the Local/Unreserved status requirement as laid down by the universities of Telangana state.

Qualification Eligibility:

LLB (3 years)Qualifying Exam: Candidates must have passed graduation degree from any recognized college or university.
Percentage: Candidates should have obtained 45% marks for general and 40% marks for SC/ST categories.
LLB (5 years)Qualifying Exam: 12th or equivalent exam from any recognized board.
Percentage: Minimum 45% marks for general and 40% marks for SC/ST candidates in the qualifying exam.

Qualification Criteria:

For LLB 3 year Course:

  • Qualifying Exam: Students must have passed the graduation exam in a 10+2+3 pattern from a recognized university.
  • Minimum Marks: A student must secure 45% marks (40% marks for reserved categories) in aggregate.
  • If the student fails to score 45% in graduation, then he/she is required to pass any additional graduation or post-graduation with 45% marks.

For LLB 5 year Course:

  • Qualifying Exam: Students should have passed the Intermediate exam from the recognized university and Telangana Board of Intermediate or any other examination equivalent to intermediate.
  • Minimum Marks: Must qualify the qualifying exam with 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).

TS LAWCET Exam Pattern 2020

Exam pattern for TS LAWCET 2020 has been devised in such a manner to test whether an aspirant possesses the ability as well as the aptitude to study law.

  • In the paper, candidates need to attempt 120 questions in the exam.
  • The complete paper within 90 minutes because no extra time will be provided to any candidates.
  • The maximum marks one can score in this law entrance exam is 120.
  • TS LAWCET entrance exam is divided into three sections. Part-A General Knowledge and Mental Ability, Part-B Current Affairs and Part-C Aptitude for the Study of Law. Paper is of a Total of 120 marks.
  • The questions asked in the TS LAWCET exam will be the objective type which will include multiple-choice questions, matching items, and the likes.
  • Examination Mode: It will be organized through computer-based mode.
  • Duration: A total of 90 minutes will be given to solve the question paper.
  • Type of Questions: Multiple choice questions will be asked in the examination.
  • Sections: The exam will contain three sections, i.e. General Knowledge & Mental Ability, Aptitude for the Study of Law and Current Affairs.
  • Marking Scheme: One mark will be given for each correct answer.
  • Negative Marking: There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.

How to Prepare for Exam

Get some useful preparation tips for scoring well in entrance examination:

  • Make a proper study time-table.
  • Exam pattern plays a significant role in exam preparation. Understand the syllabus and exam pattern.
  • Candidates can also go through the past year’s question papers to know about the difficulty level of the exam.
  • Practice mock tests to know your weak areas.
  • Time Management is critical. Set your timetable so that you can quickly decide your study hours. Divide your time well among school, tuition, coaching classes, exercise, entertainment, etc.

 TS LAWCET Syllabus 2020

All candidates must check the exam pattern, exam dates, and syllabus for the entrance exam.

  • Exam pattern for TS LAWCET comprises of 120 questions which candidates have to complete it in 90 minutes.
  • In the paper, Each question is of one mark weight.
  • TS LAWCET exam paper comprises of questions on General Knowledge and Mental Ability, Current Affairs as well as Aptitude for the Study of Law.

The syllabus will be different as per the courses opted by the students. For three year LLB courses, the syllabus will be of graduation level, and for 5-year law courses, it will be of intermediate level.

TS LAWCET Hall Ticket 2020

Candidates who want to appear in the exam have to download the admit card for the TS LAWCET exam from the official website, one week before the exam. The hall ticket will be provided through online mode. TS LAWCET 2020 Hall Ticket will be provided to students in the fourth week of May 2020.

To download the hall ticket, candidates need to fill in their application number and date of birth on the official website. Candidates note that there will no separate TS LAWCET admit card will be sent to them through the post to any candidate.

TS LAWCET 2020 Answer Key

Students who will appear in the exam will be able to check the answer key through online mode. The preliminary answer key will be published in the last week of May 2020.

Candidates who are not satisfied with the preliminary answer key can challenge it. TS LAWCET answer key will be released along with the question papers & response sheets.

TS LAWCET Result 2020

Candidates can check results of the TS LAWCET exam which will be declared on the official website.Through online mode, candidates can download the result. Candidates need to enter their hall ticket number on the official website. After the declaration of results merit, that is the prepared basis of marks scored by them in the exam.

The rank card for TS LAWCET can be downloaded from the official website of the exam. Candidates are informed there will No separate rank card will be sent to any candidates via post.

The candidate who is invited has to appear for an exam as mentioned in the date and time.Students will be able to participate in the counseling procedure through online mode. To appear in the counseling, firstly candidates will have to register themselves and pay the counseling fee.

After that, students will have to report at the designated center for document verification. After the document verification process, candidates will be able to exercise their options. Ranks will be allotted to candidates to participate in the counseling procedure. TS LAWCET 2020 Counselling will be commenced from the third week of October 2020.

  • The counseling will be started in November through online mode.
  • If candidates want any crucial details about counseling, they have to download the letter of advice from the official portal of TS LAWCET.
