AIEEA UG is the entrance examination through which the candidates are admitted to the bachelor degree programs in agriculture other than veterinary sciences While AIEEA PG is organized for the candidates seeking admission in master’s degree programs offered by the Agricultural Universities. ICAR also conducts the entrance examination for the Ph.D. course namely AICE-SRF (PGS). ICAR AIEEA 2018 Application Form will be released soon. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has the authority to conduct the Indian Admission Examination in India (IAEA). In 2018, the 23rd ICAR India (AIEEA) will be held.

AIEEA UG 2018 and AIEEEA PG 2018 will be held for undergraduate and postgraduate admissions, including PG. For admission to doctoral courses, ICAR leads AICE-JRF / SRF (PGS). 15% of the Baccalaureate (B.Sc ag./B.Tech/B.F.Sc, etc.) in agricultural universities (AU) will be filled with the ICAR AIEEA UG exam.

ICAR Result AIEEA 2018

The ICAR AIEEA 2018 result has been published on its official website. The result must be verified by the candidate of the personal login account. The result has been announced on 8th September 2018. The results will be published in terms of overall rank and category achieved by the candidate.

The candidates can check the result online through the official website of council. Based on the merit obtained by the candidates in UG and PG All India Entrance Examination, the seats will be offered. On the basis of candidate’s merit in AIEEA UG, the National Talent Scholarships (NTS) will be awarded whereas 475 ICAR-Junior Research Fellowships will be awarded PG degree merit holder students.

ICAR AIEEA Counseling 2018

Candidates who will be declared qualified will be eligible for the ICAR consultation. The Board shall be organized in accordance with the schedule notified by the Authority. Candidates are required to attend the consultation in person. All qualified candidates must bring the self-attesting and the original documents/certificates at the time of the council. ICAR AIEEA 2018 counselling has been started from 10th September 2018 for UG and 21st September 2018 for PG courses.

ICAR AIEEA Admit Card 2018

ICAR AIEEA 2018 admit card has been uploaded on ICAR website on 10th August 2018.

The copy of the admission card must be certified by the director of the college or the last assisted school or by the officer published. It is necessary that the candidates attest the photograph, the signature and put the impression of the thumb in the admission card to appear the examination.

ICAR AIEEA 2018 Application form

  • ICAR AIEEA application form 2018 will be available from the first week of May 2018tentatively.
  • When completing the online application form, candidates must download a scanned copy of the signature, photograph, and thumbprint (right / left).
  • Candidates should not be required to submit a certificate with the application.
  • After completing the online application, the candidate must print the confirmation page printed by the computer.
  • Attach the confirmation page with a copy of the challan bank (duly signed by the bank) and send it to the address indicated by registered mail.
  • The last date of receipt of the paper copy of the computer generated confirmation page will be the last week of April 2018.

Registration fees can be paid by credit/debit card through the Canara Bank’s net bank. Applicants also have the option of paying fees through NEFT / challan bank  (SBBJ).

Mode of Payment

Online Payment:

The payment for the online application form can be done through Bank challan of Syndicate bank or credit/debit card by using the payment gateway of Canara Bank/NEFT.

Offline Payment:

The candidates who are opting for the offline application form from ICAR 8 institutions are required to make the payment through bank draft and it should be drawn in the favour of ICAR Unit-Education Division, ICAR, New Delhi” payable at “New Delhi”. Must mention your name and address on the back side of the Bank draft.

Qualifying Examination

For AIEEA UG (Other than Veterinary Sciences):

  • The candidates belonging from GEN, UPS (Under Privileged State) and OBC categories must have passed 10+2 examination with 50% aggregate marks (40% in case of SC/ST/PC).
  • Candidates have to qualified 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry & Biology/Agriculture/Mathematics.
  • Appearing candidates are also eligible.


  • Minimum educational qualification of bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Veterinary, Agricultural Engineering, Fisheries, Horticulture, Home Science, Sericulture, Dairy Technology, Forestry, Agri. Marketing and Cooperation, Food Science, Biotechnology, Basic and allied sciences etc. is required to be eligible for this course.
  • Those who have completed their bachelor’s degree programmes in the pattern of 10+2+5 or 10+2+4 or 10+6 years can apply for this course. Few seats are also available for candidates possessing bachelor’s degree in 10+2+3 education pattern.
  • In the case of grading point, OGPA of 6.60/10, 3.25/5, 2.60/4 is required for General, OBC and UPS categories. The OGPA requirement of SC/ST/PC candidates will be 60/10, 2.75/5, 2.20/4, respectively.
  • In the case of number system, at least 60% marks for General, OBC and UPS categories is required whereas for SC/ST/PC category candidates 50% marks are required.

Seat & Reservation

For the academic session 2018-2018, ICAR 22nd AIEEA UG and ICAR 22nd AIEEA PG will be conducted to admit candidates in 100% seats available at ICAR deemed-to-be-Universities namely NDRI, Karnal, RLB Central Agricultural Universities Jhansi, IARI, IVRI and CIFE.

The undergraduate courses is offered by the NDRI, Karnal and RLB Central Agricultural Universities Jhansi while PG is offered by the NDRI, IARI, IVRI and CIFE. State Agricultural Universities also provides admission through ICAR 2018 AIEEA UG and PG entrance exam. It offers 15% seats for UG degree courses and 25% seats for PG degree courses. Reservation criteria is as follows:

  • SC – 15% seats
  • ST – 7.5% seats
  • PC – 3% seats
  • UPS – 2% seats
  • OBC – Reservation in Central Educational Institutions/ Universities will be as per govt. of India rules.

UG courses (B.Sc ag./ B.Tech/B.F.Sc, etc.) are offered in the following subjects:

Agriculture/Horticulture/Fisheries/Forestry/Home Science/Sericulture/Biotechnology/Agricultural Engineering/Dairy Technology/Food Science/Agricultural Marketing & Co-operation.

PG and PhD Courses are offered in the following fields:

Agriculture/Horticulture/Forestry/Home Science/Physical Science/Biotechnology/Agricultural Engineering/Social Sciences/Dairy Science/Fisheries Science/Veterinary Science and other allied sciences.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the ICAR Access Examination, it is mandatory that all applicants meet all eligibility requirements prescribed by the Authority. The eligibility criteria for AIEEA UG and AIEEA PG are as follows:

  • Nationality: Applicant must be an Indian national.
  • Age Criteria: Age of the candidate must be 16 years as on 31st August, 2018.
  • Qualifying Examination: Minimum qualification required is 10+2 from a recognized board. The last two years of 10+2 should be studied with Physics, Chemistry and any one of the subjects amongst Biology/ Mathematics/ Agriculture/Home Science.
  • Those studied intermediate with Agriculture and not with Physics and Chemistry may eligible for admission in some SAUs in the State of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
  • Candidates who wish to opt stream-A in the entrance exam must have necessarily passed intermediate with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Agriculture/Home Science subjects. Stream-B aspirants have to pass the 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects.
  • Intermediate with home science candidates would be eligible for admission into limited AUs.
  • Minimum Marks: The qualifying examination should be passed with not less than 50% aggregate marks for General, OBC and UPS (40% aggregate marks for SC, ST and PC categories).
  • Appearing Candidates: Candidates appearing the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.


  • Nationality: Candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • Age Criteria: The upper age limit is 19 years as on 31st August 2018.
  • Qualifying Examination: Bachelor’s degree in a respective field from a recognized institution (under the pattern of 10+2+5 (B.V. Sc. & A.H.), 10+2+4 and 10+6 years). Those candidates who have passed bachelor’s degree in pattern of 10+2+3 can only apply for IARI Pusa and NDRI Karnal in some courses.
  • Appearing Candidates: Final year graduation appearing candidates may also apply.
  • Minimum Marks: In graduation, candidates should not have marks less than 60% (50% for SC/ST/PC categories).

It has only single question paper containing 180 multiple choice questions. For stream-A, the questions will be asked in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Agriculture) and for stream-B, it will be asked from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematic. The question paper medium will be English as well as Hindi. There is a negative marking of 1 mark for every incorrect answer.

Stream-A (Agriculture/Biology) includes Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Forestry, Home Science, Sericulture, Food Science and Biotechnology stream.

Stream-B (Mathematics) includes Agricultural Engineering, Dairy Technology, Agricultural Marketing & Co-operation, Forestry, Food Science and Biotechnology.

  • Examination Mode: The entrance exam will be held offline.
  • The number of questions: 180 questions maximum of 720 points will appear on the test.
  • Type of questions: All questions will be objective.
  • Language: The role of the question will be in Hindi as well as in English.
  • Duration of the exam: the candidate must complete the exam in 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  • Marking Scheme: Each correct answer will gain 4 points.
  • Negative Marking: 1 point will be deducted from the total score if an incorrect answer is marked.

The question paper of AIEEA PG admission test consists of 150 MCQ, objective type questions, and 10 cross-matching type questions. The medium of the question paper will be English only. There is the provision of negative marking of 1 mark for every MCQ incorrect answer and 0.2 marks for incorrect matching type sub-question/pairing.

    And I have another doubt… What is the difference between agriculture and agriculture engineering?
