JEST 2021 will be conducted in the Third Week of February 2021. JEST 2021 is the National Level Entrance Test. JEST 2021 will be organized by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB).

JEST is conducted every year for taking admission into the Ph.D. Courses. After JEST 2021, the student will get admission into Ph.D. and Integrated Ph.D. Courses in physics or theoretical computer science and or neuroscience or computational biology.

JEST 2021 Application Form

  • The JEST 2021 Application Form will be released through the online mode.
  • The JEST 2021 Application Form will be released from the Second week of November 2020.
  • The candidates can fill the JEST 2021 Application Form till the Second week of December 2020.
  • The JEST 2021 Application Form cannot be filled through any mode such as offline or any other.
  • The JEST 2021 Application Form must be filled with the details like the personal details, academics details, personal details, address and communication details.

JEST 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Ph.D. Physics:

  • The students must have passed the M.sc Physics from any recognized University. Some of the Institutes will also accept the B.Tech./ M. E/ M.Sc /M.Tech. in applied physics and mathematics.

Ph.D. in Neuroscience at NBRC:

  • The student must have hold Computer Science Degree in BE/ BCA/MCA/ B.Tech.

Ph. D in Theoretical Computer Science at IMSc:

  • The candidate must have passed the M.Tech./ M.E. / MCA/ M/Sc. in science. The student must have an interest in Biological Science and Good Mathematical Skill.

Ph.D. in Computational Biology at IMSc:

  • The candidate must have passed the M.Tech./ M.E. / MCA/ M/Sc. in science. The student must have an interest in Biological Science and Good Mathematical Skill.

Integrated Ph.D. Programme in Theoretical Computer Science at IMSc:

  • The student must have passed the B.sc/ B.Tech./ MCA/ B.E from any recognized University AND IN Computer science or any related stream.

Integrated M.Tech Ph.D. at IIA:

  • The students must have a qualified degree in M.Sc. (physics/ applied physics) / post B.Sc. (Hons.) in optics and optoelectronics/ radio physic and electronics.

JEST 2021 Exam Pattern

Mode of Examination The examination will be conducted through the offline  (pen Paper Based Test).
Types of Questions In the entrance test, Multiple Types of questions will be asked.

The students will be called for the JEST 2021 Counselling after the declaration of the cut off marks and the result. The JEST 2021 Counselling will be organized differently for the participating institutes.

The authority will not conduct the centralized JEST 2021 Counselling. The students must reach the institution in personal separately where they want to take the admission.
