KMAT 2018 (Karnataka): Admit Card, Dates, Syllabus, Exam Pattern

KMAT 2018 Exam dates are Rescheduled. KMAT 2018 (Karnataka Management Aptitude Test) is regulated by the Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA). KMAT is a standardized state level entrance level. This exam is conducted since 2003. The exam is for Management program across Karnataka.

This exam is conducted every year for the admission to  MBA anywhere in Karnataka, and hence only one state level exam is conducted. KMAT entrance exam for admission in undergraduate management program is conducted by the Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA). This entrance exam is conducted for those candidates planning to enroll as the student pursuing MBA. By this process, the candidates will get admission in undergraduate degree and for postgraduate.

The state-level test is conducted for admission to a number of the postgraduate management programme in Karnataka covering 10,000 seats. The score will be accepted in 169 colleges and more. These universities are AICTE approved and B-schools in Banglore and Karnataka.

KMAT 2018 Admit Card 

KMAT 2018 Admit Card will be Available on 12th October 2018. The candidates who applied for the entrance examination can check for the admit card on the official website of KMAT. The admit card will be downloaded by the candidate from the official website of KMAT. The download of admit card will be for a limited period of time.

The candidates will have to give information or log in using id and personal information to access the admit card. After validation in that site, the candidate will be allowed to download the admit card. There will be the deadline for downloading KMAT admit card and candidate are requested to download before the due date.

After 4-15 days of registrations last date, candidates will receive an email from ATTEST asking them to select their test center, exam date & time slot for the examination. All the candidates will have to carry the admit card to the examination hall or the online examination center. In case the candidate loses or forget to bring the admit card to the center the candidate NOT be allowed to sit for the examination. The admit card is mandatory to give the examination.

KMAT 2018 Exam Pattern

The exam will be written exam of KMAT and this will be conducted in the first week of January 2018. The exam conducting authority Delhi University, Delhi, India conducts the exam once in a year to offer admission for undergraduate and postgraduate courses at colleges participating in the KMAT.

  • Mode of Exam: The exam will be organized through offline mode (pen paper-based test).
  • Type of Questions: The question paper will be comprised of objective type questions divided into three sections.
  • No. of Questions: Total 120 question will come in the examination.

Exam pattern is as follows:

  • Candidates have to appear for one paper only, and the exam duration will be 120 minutes.
  • The question paper will contain 120 Multiple Choices Questions (MCQs), and the paper will be set in English language only.
  • There are two sections in the question paper, and the questions of Section I will contain 55% of weight and Section II will contain 45% of weight.
  • Each correct answer will lead to the addition of one mark. There will be negative marking applies to wrong answers.
  • Four marks will be given to the correct answer and one mark will be deducted if given the wrong answer.

The result of KMAT will be provided on the official website of the KMAT.  The result will be announced on the fourth week of October 2018. The list will be category wise merit list only for those candidates who are eligible. The merit list will be displayed on the University official website.

KMAT Application Form 2018

  • Candidates can fill the KMAT Application Form 2018 through online mode.

All the candidates will have to fill out all the details of their own in the application form of KMAT. The filled information should be rechecked by the candidates to avoid the mistakes. The recheck is necessary to avoid miss typing and other chances of errors. Once the checking is done the candidate will now submit the application form, and after submitting the application form the candidate will not be allowed to edit further, and entries can’t be changed.

All the candidates applying should make sure that they have appeared for KMAT and have qualified it. The candidates passed the exam with flying colors can only appear for the counseling and registration process further.

The application form will include details like name, number, etc. that is personal details, academic details, the area you belong to and other related and relevant details. After that, fill up the details such as courses studied and obtained marks percentage, age, the address for communication, etc. Upload a 35X45 vivid photo of the candidate. Once after that, pay the application fee via Debit card/Credit Card/Internet banking. After transferring the payment successfully, you will get a receipt on your registered email address and Mobile Phone. This details will be filled first, and then the procedure will be completed by paying the application fees.

  • Candidates can fill the KMAT Application Form 2018 through online mode.
  • Candidates can fill the application till 29th September 2018.
  • After the submission of the online application and payment, candidates will get a unique ID on the registered email id.
  • Take a print copy of the filled application form future use.

Eligible candidates could then fill the KMAT 2018 application form following the steps shared below:

  • Tick the appropriate Nativity if test takers are not Karnataka state student.
  • Candidates can select and mention minimum two preferred test centers as per their convenience.
  • Mark the test for which a candidate is appearing.

  • A candidate seeking admission for MBA, MCA must create a DD for Rs. 800 IN FAVOR OF ‘KMAT 2018’.

Application fees

The counseling fee of KMAT 2018 is  Rs. 800/– for every category candidate. There can be different modes of payment for the counseling fees. The fee can be paid through Credit/Debit Card/Net banking.

The fee for application form of KMAT 2018 can be paid via Demand Draft (DD) of Rs. 800 in favor of ‘KMAT 2018’. This is the offline mode.

Candidates who want to opt for online mode can apply online by visiting the KMAT official website. Registration fee can be paid online. This is the online mode.

The counseling registration fee will NOT be returned to any of the candidates under any circumstances.

Some important steps to Download KMAT Admit card 

  • Visit the official website of KMAT or candidates can also download from below.
  • Enter the KMAT 2018 application number and DoB
  • Download the KMAT admit card 2018. Candidates can also take out the print out of the admit card.
  • Download it and print at least two clear copies of the admit card, where all details are visible.
  • Remember to carry all printed copies to the examination hall.

KMAT Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria are the set of conditions that a candidate needs to satisfy when appearing for a particular examination. The rules are by the examination conducting authorities only.  There are some set of rules that are mentioned below to provide reading candidates with the details and conditions of the examination:

  • Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years duration, or
  • Master’s degree examination of any recognized education body in Commerce, Management, Arts, Social Sciences, Engineering/ Technology or equivalent
  • Students must have secured at least 50% of marks in the aggregate (40% for SC/ST candidate).
  • Candidates in their final year of bachelor’s degree are also eligible.

For MBA/PGDM Courses:

  • Qualifying Marks: Pass the bachelors/master degree from a recognized university.
  • Subjects: Qualify the above examination in management, commerce, engineering/technology, arts, social science or equivalent.
  • Minimum Marks: Secure minimum 50% marks (45% marks in SC/ST category).
  • Appearing Candidates can also apply.

For MCA Course:

  • Qualifying Marks: Qualify the bachelor degree from the recognized university.
  • Subjects: Candidates must study Mathematics at 10+2 stage or graduate level.
  • Minimum Marks: Score at least 50% marks in the above examination.

Based on the exam result, the institute prepare final merit list and the names of candidates added to the final merit list will later call for counseling secession.  Verification of the candidate will require a valid mobile no. Fr new user or even for registered user. There will be more than one round of counseling so the candidate who fails to register in the 1st round of counseling will not be permitted to register in 2nd and subsequent rounds of counseling.

The documents that are required at the time of counseling should be self-attested. The documents required for KMAT counseling are:

  • Candidates have to carry the admit card with attested photograph and its photocopy.
  • One attested copy of Senior Secondary Examination mark sheet
  • One attested photocopy of the confirmed result of qualifying exam (XIIth standard).
  • Original certificate that states a candidate belongs to the particular category
  • Latest Income Certificate of the parents (applicable only to the candidates belonging to OBC category) original and one self-attested photocopy.
  • Class X Board Examination Certificate
  • Class X Marks-Sheet
  • Class XII Marks-Sheet
  • Class XII Provisional Certificate / Original Certificate
  • Character Certificate (recent)
  • SC/ST/PWD/CW Certificate (in the name of the candidate) issued by the competent authority
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate (in the name of the Candidate) issued by competent authority. In case the OBC Certificate is before 1st April 2015, then proof for the Non-Creamy Layer Status.
  • Transfer Certificate from school/college as well as Migration Certificate from Board / University is required from those students who have passed the senior secondary exam from outside city.
  • At least two passport size self-attested photographs.
