Candidates appearing in NEET 2021 must follow the new rules and regulation as prescribed by the NTA. India’s Biggest Medical Entrance Exam known as the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) is now known as NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test).
For appearing for NEET Examination, the candidate has to submit an application form with the conducting authority. There is also a specific dress code that has to be followed in the examination centre.
This article will provide all the detailed information regarding the dress code for the NEET Examination. All the candidates appearing in the NEET 2021 must make sure to adhere to these guidelines prescribed by the CBSE.
About NEET
After applying for the NEET Examination, the conducting authorities will issue an admit card for the eligible candidates in the exam.
The candidates will be able to download the admit card just a few days before the exam from the official website.
The candidates should know about the dress code for appearing in the NEET Exam. If the candidate doesn’t follow the dress code, then the candidate won’t be allowed to sit for the exam, or it can be considered as an unfair means of copying in the exam.

Candidates have to follow the dress code while appearing for the NEET exam; the dress code rules are given below
- Candidates have to wear light colour, half sleeves clothes not having big buttons, brooch/badge, flower, etc. with Salwar/Trouser.
- Candidates have to wear Slippers, sandals with low heels & not shoes.
Note: If the candidate is wearing the customary dress, then they need to report at the allotted examination centre latest by 8.30 AM on the day of examination.
For Male Candidate
Wear light colour clothes like Jeans, Pant, Shirt (half sleeves only). The button of the shirt should be medium size not big enough.
The Kurta Payjama not allowed, Shoes are also not allowed. Wear only sleepers or sandals.
For Female Candidate
Light clothes with half sleeves not having big buttons, brooch/badge, flower, etc. with Salwar/ Trouser, Slippers, sandals with low heels are allowed. Shoes for the female candidate are also not allowed.

What to wear in the examination centre
NEET Examination provides admission for the applicants in the sector of MBBS and BDS course. BDS is a dental course for candidates who want to take a course in Dentistry.

Barred items and NEET dress code 2021
The candidates are not allowed to carry the following items inside the examination centre under any circumstances. If found with these barred items, then the candidate is liable to expelled from giving the exam.
The candidates will be subjected to extensive and compulsory frisking before entering the examination centre with the help of highly sensitive metal detectors.
- Any stationery item like textual material (printed or written), bits of papers, Geometry/Pencil Box, Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Pen, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives, Eraser, Calculator, Log Table, Electronic Pen/Scanner, etc.
- Any communication device like Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager, Health Band, etc.
- Other items like Wallet, Goggles, Handbags, Belt, Cap, etc.
- All ornaments like Ring, Earrings, Nose-pin, Chain/Necklace, Pendants, Badge and Brooch, etc.
- Any Watch/Wrist Watch, Bracelet, Camera, etc.
- Any metallic item.
- Any eatable item opened or packed, water bottle, etc.
- Any other item which could be used for unfair means, for hiding communication devices like camera, Bluetooth device, etc.
The items that are barred
- Any stationery things like textual material (printed or written), bits of papers, Geometry/pencil box, plastic pouch, calculator, pen, scale, writing pad, pen drives, eraser, calculator, log table, electronic pen/scanner, etc.
- Any communication device like a mobile phone, Bluetooth, earphone, microphone, pager, health band, etc.
- Any other items like wallet, goggles, handbag, belt, cap, etc.
- Any ornaments, whether it is gold or silver, is not allowed.
- Any wristwatches, watches, bracelet, camera, etc.
- Any metallic item.
- Any eatable items, whether packed or unpacked, water bottle, etc.
- Or any other items which could result in any unfair means, or for hiding communication devices like camera, Bluetooth device, etc.
The candidates should not bring these materials with them

Any items from the above are found with the candidate inside the examination centre; then the candidate can be charged for malpractice in the exam. And the authorities can take some necessary action against that candidate.
Note: No arrangement for keeping these articles are taken by the examination centre. So, the candidate should plan accordingly.

The CBSE is stringent with their new rules. The dress code for Male and Female Candidates have to be followed in a proper sense by the candidates respectively.
All the candidate must follow the dress code if you are Muslim/ Hindu/ Christian, Sindhi. No matter what everyone is the same and have to follow the same dress code.
- Applicants have to Wear light clothes with half sleeves Shirt/ T-Shirt/ Kurta not having big buttons, brooch, any badge, flower & Trouser/ Salwar, etc.
- Applicants should wear slippers, sandals and no shoes in the exam hall.
- The candidate going to appear for CBSE NEET entrance test must take care of Dress Code.

Candidates must note that No arrangement will be made at the centres for keeping any articles/items belonging to the candidates. In case any candidate is found in possession of any of the barred items inside the centre.
It will be considered as the use of unfair means and action will be taken against the candidate by the relevant provisions.
