KEAM 2019 Application Form has been Started on 3rd February 2019. KEAM 2018 Third Phase Allotment for Medical & Allied Course (Except MBBS / BDS) has been released. This exam is conducted in various cities of the country. It is a state level entrance exam which is conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Kerala.  Kerala Engineering, Agriculture and Medical (KEAM 2018) is a state level entrance test in Kerala state. It is also popular by the name as CEE Kerala (Combined Entrance Exam).

This exam is a gateway for providing admissions to professional degree courses in various fields like engineering, agriculture and many others.It is also referred as Kerala engineering entrance or Kerala medical entrance exam. KEAM (Kerala Entrance) is organized by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Kerala.

KEAM 2018 is an entry-level examination conducted by the Entrance Examinations Commissioner (ECE), Kerala. The KEAM 2018 exam will be held in different cities of the country. After passing this examination, candidates may be admitted to different engineering courses. Previously, this examination was conducted for admission to engineering, medicine, agriculture and other fields.

As of 2016, the KEAM exam was organized only for engineering courses. For admission to allied medical and educational medical courses, including agriculture, the candidate must qualify for the NEET exam and for the architectural course, candidates must remove the NATA exam. Through this article, students can view the details of KEAM 2018, including the application form, test dates, eligibility, etc. KEAM 2018 Application Correction is starting from 10th April 2018.

KEAM Result 2018

KEAM result 2018 has been declared on 22nd May 2018. Candidates can post their results through the online mode through the site. A separate list of merits will be prepared for all courses based on the qualifications obtained by the candidate. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of 50:50 criteria, ie 50% for KEAM scores and 50% for grades on the qualifying examination.The rank list for all the courses will be issued on or before 20th June 2018.

KEAM 2018 Counselling

KEAM Admission Process will be started after the release of merit list. The process of seats allocation will be made by Centralized Allotment Process (CAP). It will be done through the Single Window System (SWS). In the counselling process, candidates have to fill the stream/colleges of their choices and lock the choices. Seats will be allotted to candidates as per the merit list, filled choices & availability of seats in colleges. After the process of seat allotment, students are needed to appear at their allotted college to complete admission process.

KEAM 2018 Answer key

KEAM 2018 answer key will be issued after the few days of the exam. Candidates can view the response key on the site. With the help of the answer key, the candidate can check their answers. For any complaints related to the response key, candidates must pay Rs. 100 / – per question before the last date. Fees can be paid through SD to EWC, payable to Thiruvananthapuram.

KEAM 2018 Rank Predictor

Admission to engineering courses will be based on the ranking obtained by the candidates on the KEAM entrance examination. On the basis of the final list of merits, the KEAM classification card will be maintained. Candidates can predict their rank with the help of the ranking predictor.

  • KEAM application has been available online.
  • Candidates can fill and submit the KEAM Application Form online through the official site of KEAM.
  • The application form has been released from 1st February 2018.
  • Candidates, those want to apply for medical, allied, pharmacy, engineering & architecture course, they all have to fill KEAM application.
  • Applicants are advised to do not fill more than one application form.

KEAM Admit Card 2018


KEAM Hall Ticket 2018 will be provided online via the site.  Candidates can get the admit card on 10th April 2018.  Applicants must enter their date of birth and application number to download the admission card. The admission card will not be mailed to any candidate.

The personal details of the candidate and the details of the examination location, examination time, exam date, etc., will be mentioned in the admission card.

KEAM Exam Pattern 2018

  • Mode: The examination will be conducted in pen & paper based mode.
  • No. of papers: The exam will be held in two papers.
  • Duration: Total duration is 5 hours, i.e. two and half hour for each paper.
  • Types of question: The question paper will be consist of objective type questions.
  • No. of questions: Each paper will contain of 120 Questions.
  • Marking Scheme: Four marks will be awarded for the correct response.
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants have to check their eligibility criteria for the courses they are applying:

Nativity:

  • Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply.
  • Persons of Indian Origins (PIO) /Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) can also apply for the examination.
  • Students belong to Kerala state are categorized as Keralite, Non-Keralite category I and Non-Keralite Category II.

Age Eligibility:

  • Minimum Age: Candidates must complete their age of 17 years as or on 31st December of the year of admission.
  • Maximum Age: There is no upper age limit.

Qualification Eligibility:

  • Qualification: Candidates seeking admission in engineering courses must have passed 12th or equivalent exam from any recognized board.
  • Percentage: Candidate must have obtained minimum 50% marks in PCM subjects. It is necessary to score 50% marks in mathematics individually.
  • Appearing Candidates: Students appearing in the Higher Secondary examination are also eligible to apply.

How to prepare for KEAM 2018


  • Make a study schedule and follow strictly.
  • Know your program of in-depth studies and prepare according to the program.
  • Applicants may also review the previous year’s article for the exam template and the type of questions that are asked during the exam.
  • Follow the good books and study the materials for the preparations.
  • Take a healthy diet and a good sleep during the preparations.

Admission is based on merit as assessed by equal weighting to NATA Score and marks/grades in the Qualifying Examination)
The CEE will conduct separate Entrance Examinations for admission to Engineering Courses and Medical & Allied Courses. The CEE will not conduct any Entrance Examination for admission to B.Arch. course. However, candidates seeking admission to B.Arch. course should compulsorily appear and qualify the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the National Institute of Advanced Studies in Architecture (NIASA) before 05.06.2018.

KEAM 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Nativity: Applicant should be an Indian citizen. Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders will be treated on par with Indian citizens for the limited purpose of admission. However, PIO/OCI candidates will not be eligible for any kind of reservation Both Keralites and Non-Keralites are eligible to apply for the Entrance Examinations. Applicants of Kerala origin will be categorised as ‘Keralites’.

Others will be categorised as ‘Non-Keralites’. Non-Keralites are classified as ‘Non-Keralite Category I’ and ‘Non-Keralite Category-II’. )Keralite: A candidate of Kerala Origin will be categorised as ‘Keralite’. Children of All India Service (AIS) Officers (Non-Keralites) allotted to Kerala Cadre are deemed to be ‘Keralites’ as per G.O.(Rt.)No.822/08/H.Edn. dated 29.05.2008.

But they will not be eligible for communal/Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation or any fee concession. In order to prove that a candidate is an Indian Citizen of Kerala origin for the limited purpose of eligibility for admission, he/she has to produce a certificate showing that the candidate or his/her father or mother was born in Kerala.

Non-Keralite Category I (NK I)

A candidate who is not of Kerala origin but fulfils anyone of the following conditions will be categorised as ‘Non-Keralite Category I'(NK I). A candidate who has undergone qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non-Keralite parents belong to Government of India/Defence

A candidate who has undergone a qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non-Keralite parents belong to Government of India/Defence Service posted to Kerala.

A candidate who has undergone a qualifying course in Kerala and who is son/daughter of Non-Keralite parents who is serving/served Government of Kerala for a minimum period of two years.

A candidate who is not of Kerala Origin but has been a resident of Kerala State for a period of 5(five) years within the period of 12(twelve) years of his/her study.

A candidate who is not of Kerala Origin but who has undergone his/her school studies in Kerala from standard VIII to XII.

Non-Keralite Category I candidates will be considered against ‘State Merit’ seats for Engineering/Architecture/Medical & Allied courses and will not be eligible for Communal/ Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation or any fee concession.

Non-Keralite Category-II (NK II)

Candidates who do not come under ‘Keralite’ or ‘NonKeralite Category I’ will be treated as ‘Non-Keralite Category-II’. They are eligible for admission to the Management Quota seats in Self-financing Engineering institutions under Government control. Non-Keralite Category-II candidates are eligible for admission to Government Seats and Management Quota Seats in Private Self Financing Engineering/Architecture Colleges. But they will not be eligible for Communal/ Special/Persons with Disabilities reservation or any fee concession.

Academic Qualification:

(i)For MBBS, BDS, BSMS: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology/Biotechnology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology put together, are eligible. In the absence of Biology, Biotechnology will be considered as a subject for academic eligibility.

(ii) For admission to BAMS/ BHMS courses: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible. Biotechnology will not be considered as a subject for academic eligibility.

(iii) For admission to BUMS course: Candidates seeking admission to BUMS (Kamil-E-Tib WaJarahat) course must have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, with 50% aggregate marks in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology and 50% marks in Biology separately and (a) the candidate should have passed 10th or 12th standard with Urdu or Arabic or Persian language as a subject or (b) pre-Tib examination of one year duration.

(iv)For admission to B.Sc.(Hons.)Agri., B.Sc.(Hons) Forestry, BFSc courses: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible. Biotechnology will not be considered as a subject for academic eligibility.

(v)For admission to BVSc. & AH Course: Candidates should have secured not less than 50% aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology for the qualifying examination, in addition to the condition as stipulated in clause 6.2.1(a)(iv)of the Prospectus as per regulation 5 of Minimum standards of Veterinary Education Degree Course (BVSc & AH) Regulation, 1993. Relaxation in marks is permissible as stipulated in clause 6.2.4 of the Prospectus.

(vi)Eligibility of BSc. Degree holders: Candidates who have passed the BSc Degree (Three year course) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany or Biotechnology as Main, and any one or two of the above subjects as Subsidiaries, with 50% marks for Main & Subsidiaries taken together, subject to the condition that they have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations recognised as equivalent thereto with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects are eligible for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS and BSMS courses.

(b) Engineering Courses:
(i) Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50 % marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission.

However, candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent as thereto, with 45% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission under Management Quota in Private Self Financing Engineering Colleges/Government Controlled Self Financing Engineering Colleges.

In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, the marks obtained in Computer Science shall be considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry and Computer Science, the marks obtained in Biotechnology shall be considered.

In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, Computer Science and Biotechnology, the marks obtained in Biology shall be considered. The marks as shown in the mark list of the Board of Examination obtained from the respective Higher Secondary Board shall be considered for academic eligibility.

Note:- (a) In two year Kerala Higher Secondary courses or examinations recognised equivalent thereto with two year course where the Board Examinations are conducted in both years, the total marks of two years in the respective subjects as shown in the mark lists of the respective Higher Secondary Boards will be considered for academic eligibility.

(b) In Higher Secondary courses or examinations recognised equivalent thereto where Board Examinations are conducted only at the end of 12th class (final year), the marks in the respective subjects as shown in the mark lists of the respective Higher Secondary Boards will be considered for academic eligibility.

(c)For all other type of Higher Secondary courses or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, the marks of the respective subjects as shown in the mark list of the respective Board of Examinations will be considered for academic eligibility.

Relaxation of marks in the Qualifying Examination:

For all the courses, candidates belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (as per G.O. (P) No. 208/66/Edn dated 02.05.1966, GO(MS) No. 10/2014/BCDD dated: 23.05.2014, GO (P) No. 1/2015/BCDD dated: 01.01.2015 and amendments thereof), will have a relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying examination.

They need only 45% marks in the case of Mathematics/Biology and 45% marks in the case of Mathematics/Biology, Physics and Chemistry put together.

The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes candidates need only a pass in the qualifying examination. However, for admission to MBBS/BDS courses, candidates belonging to SC/ST categories need 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology put together in the qualifying examination. Candidates with Locomotory disability of lower limbs between 40% to 70% need only.

45% marks in case of Biology/Biotechnology and 45% marks in case of optional subjects put together for admission to MBBS course (as per the Guidelines of Medical Council of India).

The candidates belonging to PD category will have a relaxation of 5 % marks in the qualifying examination for Engineering and Medical Allied Courses except for BDS.

They need only 45 % marks in the case of Mathematics/Biology and 45 % marks in the case of Mathematics/Biology, Physics and Chemistry put together.

Provided that in cases where only grades are given for qualifying examination and marks are not mentioned, the grade covering 45% marks will be considered as criterion for eligibility.

The relaxation in marks in the Qualifying Examinations available to SEBC and PD Candidates will not be applicable to the admissions under Management Quota in Private Self Financing Engineering Colleges/Government Controlled Self Financing Engineering Colleges.

Security Card

Security Card, Prospectus and an envelope can be obtained from selected Post Offices in Kerala and outside the State, on payment of the prescribed fee (Rs.1000/- for General & Rs.500/- for SC as the case may be), by cash.

List of Post Offices that issue Security cards and Prospectus is appended to this notification. Security card will not be available at the Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.

The Security card consists of a KEY NUMBER, which is inside the Security panel and will be visible on scratching the silver panel. There is a Serial Number on each Security card.

The Key number and Serial Number are unique and are required for filling up of payment details in the online application

KEAM Seat Allotment 2018

The allocation of seats will be done through a centralized allocation process (CAP). A simplified cycle of assignment will be through which candidates will be able to know the work process and change their preferences accordingly. The allocation of seats will be based on the ranking of the candidates in the published ranking list and on the preference of the university and the course. A list of candidates and their institutes will be published online. All selected candidates must inform their designated institutes within the specified period. Verification of documents and payment of tuition fees must be done to confirm admission.
