KVPY 2018 Application Form Date for the closing of online application (Registered candidates only) 7th September 2018 at 5 PM.  KVPY stands for [Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana], is a program started in 1999 by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India to encourage students who are studying Basic Sciences to take up research career in Science. For General Category/OBC: Rs. 1000, for SC/ST/PWD: Rs. 500. Selection of the students is made from those studying in XI standard, XII standard, 1st year of any undergraduate Program in Basic Sciences namely B.S. / B.Sc. / B.Math. / B.Stat. / Int. M.Sc./M.S. in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology having an aptitude for scientific research. An applicant must apply for all courses through online only. No hard copy of the application is available.

KVPY 2018 Registration 

KVPY 2018 Registration will be started from the11 July 2018. An applicant is required to go throw with KVPY website http://www.kvpy.iisc.ernet.in/,  All the candidates must first register online before proceeding to fill the application form. You may do this by clicking on the link of online application form for KVPY; you will be directed to the login page.KVPY 2018 Application Form Date for the closing of online application (Registered candidates only) 7th September 2018 at 5 PM.

During the registration, an applicant provides a valid email address and an active mobile number since the KVPY office will use these contacts for all the future communications with the applicants.

Fill with your details carefully like Name, Date of Birth, Nationality, Mobile Number, Email address etc., once you fill above information and submit you will not be able to edit or make the change. Once the registration page is submitted, an email will be sent to the registered email address with a link for validating the email address (in case of candidates does not find the email in the Inbox, please check the Junk/Spam folder).

A password will be sent to the 12 registered mobile numbers which have to be used for completing the registration process. If a wrong email address and/or mobile number were provided, then one must register afresh with the correct details. Do not delete the email sent to you. This can be used for future reference.

When you return to the login screen, you have to enter your email address and the password sent through SMS. On successful login, you will be provided with an application form to fill in and an application number.

After logging in with your Candidate ID and Password you can:

  1. View your partially filled application form,
  2. Edit your application information (except some fields) by clicking on the Edit button, and
  3. Upload the mandatory documents like scanned photograph, signature and Cast / Disability certificate as applicable.

Note:  Please upload your recent passport size photograph and signature: max 80KB (Only JPEG and JPG formats) and upload your Caste certificate: max 300KB(Only PDF, JPEG and JPG formats)

Please keep the following ready before filling the online application form

An applicant should have a scanned image of their

  • Photograph and
  • Signature
  • Scanned copy of caste/medical certificate (for PWD) in CD/DVD/Pen drive as per their convenience.

These documents will be required for uploading and submission of your Online Application.

A valid E-mail and Mobile Number is mandatory for the registration of your Online Application. This E-Mail and Mobile number should be kept active till the declaration of results (Aptitude test and Interview). KVPY will send important information with regard to your application and examination on this registered E-Mail/Mobile number.

Signature Specifications

  • Please put your signature with dark blue ink on a white paper.
  • Get the signature digitally photographed/ imaged/scanned by a professional photo studio and get the image cropped to the required size.
  • Only jpg image formats will be accepted.
  • Maximum pixel resolution for jpg: 300×800.
  • Minimum pixel resolution for the image: 150×400. Mobile phone photographs of signatures are not acceptable.

Photograph Specifications

  • The photograph must be taken in color by a professional studio. Mobile phone photographs and self – composed portraits are NOT acceptable.
  • The photograph must be taken against a white or a light blue background.
  • The photograph should not be more than 3 months old.
  • The face should occupy about 50% of the area in the photograph with eyes looking into the camera directly.
  • The main features of the face must not be covered by hair, cloth or shadow. Forehead, nose, cheeks, lip, and chin should be clearly visible and both the eyes should be open.
  • If you take the photograph with a spectacle, please note that the glare on the glasses is not acceptable in your photo. Glare can be avoided with a slight downward tilt of the spectacle or by removing the spectacle for the photo shoot.
  • You must not wear spectacles with dark or tinted glasses; only clear glasses are permitted.
  • Ask your photo studio to provide the image in a jpg format that can be uploaded.
  • Maximum pixel resolution for jpg: 640×480 (0.3 Megapixel) (Ask your studio to reduce it to this resolution if it is higher)
  • Minimum pixel resolution for jpg: 320×240.
