MICAT 2018 Final Result is declaring on 31st March 2018. The MICA admission test is the entrance examination at university level which is conducted by the Mudra Institute of Communication (MICA), Ahmedabad.

MICAT 2018 will be the Qualification Exam for admission to the Postgraduate Diploma in Management Communications (PGDM-C).MICAT 2018 is a national admission exam for the Diploma in Communications Management (PGDM-C) program with 180 seats.

The examination is done twice a year, in December and February. MICAT 2018 contains approximately 140 questions of subjective and objective questions.The total exam time is 165 minutes or two hours and 45 minutes. Only candidates must request MICAT to appear for CAT / XAT / GMAT because the results of these examinations will be considered for the selection of candidates. MICAT (II) 2018 Result (Score Card) has been released on 28th February 2018.

MICAT Result 2018

The result of MICAT 2018 will be announced on MICA’s official website. The result will be declared for the MICAT-T on January 3, 2018. Candidates who will be qualified for the entrance exam will be called for other cycles of the selection process, namely GE-PI. MICAT (II) result 2018 is announcing on the official website of MICA (link will be given above).

The result for MICAT-II is declaring on 26th February 2018. Candidates who will be qualified in entrance exam will be called for further rounds of selection process i.e. GE-PI. The final result will be declared 31st March 2018.

Participants can check their results on the official MICAT link for the respective PGDM-C connection courses. To access them, you must enter Login ID and Password in the required space.The final result will be declared 31st March 2018.


MICAT 2018 Registration

MICAT 2018 will be held twice. The best of the two MICAT scores will be considered. Applicants wishing to appear MICAT – I and MICAT – II must apply separately.The 2018 MICAT-I registration process began on September 26 and will end on November 30, 2017. Although the MICAT-II 2018 application form is available from January 3, 2018 to February 5, 2018.

Applicants are encouraged to complete the MICAT 2018 application form and the fees required for successful registration.


  • MICAT 2018 application process is completely online.
  • The application will not be accepted through any other mode.
  • MICAT 2018 application form for phase-I has been released on 26th September 2017 while the applications for Phase-II will be released on 3rd January 2018.
  • Candidates are suggested to fill the application form before the last date.
  • The last date to fill the application will be 30th November 2017 (MICAT-I) & 5th February 2018 (MICAT-II).
  • The application will be accepted only after successful submission of fee.

MICAT Registration Fee:


All applicants must pay Rs. 1965 as an application fee. Fees can be submitted by credit card, application or cash payment Cash payment/account at the MICA office. The DD must be brought in favor of “MICA” payable in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Registration fees are non-refundable


MICAT 2018 Application Form

The MICAT 2018 application form will be published in mica.ac.in. Applicants must apply separately for MICAT I and MICAT II. The first step to applying is online registration. For this, the candidates will have to enter personal data, mailing address, options for the examination center, photography and other details.

Once all the details are presented, the candidates must present the academic data, the year of passage, the name of the university and the school of the year of passage. After submitting the details, applicants must submit the application fee. The amount of the application fee is Rs. 1965.

Steps to complete the MICAT 2018 application form


  • Candidates should visit the official website and click on the “New Registration” button.
  • Candidates must complete the required information on the application form.
  • Applicants must upload their last color passport size photo at the time of online registration for MICAT 2018.
  • Candidates must register for national exams.
  • Candidates can pay the application fee for MICAT 2018 online or offline.
  • After successful registration, candidates will receive an email with the MICA ID and password.
  • Note: Candidates can use the MICA ID and password to edit the details online.


MICAT Eligibility Criteria 2018

The eligibility criteria of MICAT 2018 is to be fulfilled by all the candidates who aim to pursue PGDM-C from MICA. The candidates must fulfill the below-mentioned eligibility criteria for MICAT 2018. The criteria for eligibility are as below:

  • Qualifying Examination: Candidate should have bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3 pattern or any equivalent qualification in any discipline recognized by AIU.
  • Appearing Candidates: Candidates who are in last year of bachelor’s programme are also eligible to apply.
  • To be eligible for MICAT, candidates must have valid scores of CAT 2017, XAT 2018 and GMAT (2015 onwards).
  • Candidates in the final year of their degree program can also apply.
  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree, after 10+2, from an institute recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.
  • A Foreign National (FN) student is eligible to apply if he/ she holds a foreign passport with valid GMAT scores (2016 onwards) of 600 or more.
  • An NRI students can also apply with a valid GMAT score (2016 onwards).

MICAT Exam Pattern 2018

The 2018 MICAT test model should be similar to last year. According to last year’s model, MICAT is a two-hour, forty-five minute (2:45 h) computer test with approximately 120-145 descriptive questions as well as objective type questions.Candidate must be aware of exam pattern to perform well in the examination. Here is the exam pattern of MICAT 2018:

The MICAT will be divided into 6 sections. These sections will be for:

  • Psychometric (P) – This will only be the qualifying examination.
  • Verbal ability (VA)
  • Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (QADI)
  • General awareness (GA)

Marking Scheme: There is no negative marking for Part I and II. Part III has a negative marking of 0.25 percent of the total marks allotted.

  • Mode of examination: MICAT will be conducted in online mode (CBT).
  • Type of questions: The questionnaire will have objective and subjective questions.
  • Sections: There will be six sections on the exam.
  • The number of questions: Section I will have 4 descriptive questions, while Section 2 will have a total of 94 questions (30 statements of psychometric tests, 25 questions of general knowledge and 35 questions of reasoning and verbal ability).
  • Duration of the exam: 35 minutes will be given to solve
    Section I, while 130 minutes will be given in Section II.
  • Negative markup: no negative markup for
    Section I. In addition, Document I of Section II will not be marked negatively. 25% of the negative mark will be present for Document 2 and Document 3 of Section II.

MICAT 2018 Admit Card

Candidates can download the MICAT-I 2018 admission card on December 11. The 2018 MICAT-II admission card will be available for download.

The MICAT 2018 admission card will be available online. Applicants who have registered at MICAT 2018 will receive the MICAT admission card.Examiners can download the MICAT 2018 admission card by entering their MICAT ID and password.Candidates must present proof of identification with their MICAT 2018 admission card to the examination center.

The authority will send the MICAT 2018 admission card to the candidate’s ID. In addition, the admission card will also be downloaded from the MICA website. Applicants must bring the printout of the admission card with a photo ID card to the exam room. The admission / calling card MICAT-I 2018 will be available on December 11, 2017.

The candidates will have to carry the admit card on the exam day, else they will not be allowed to take the exam. Even after the examination the candidates will need MICAT admit card so it should be kept properly even after the exam.

MICAT Admission 2018

The admission of MICA will be purely based on the candidate’s qualifications in the MICAT, GE and PI cycles. The selection will be based on 50% weight for MICAT 2018, 18% on GE, 30% on weight in PI and 2% on CAT / XAT / GMAT scores. For admission to the PGDM-C course, the best of the two MICAT scores will be considered.

If the candidates appeared in CAT & XAT or CAT & GMAT or XAT & GMAT or all three-CAT, XAT and GMAT, the best of the two / best results of the three exams will be considered for admission.


MICAT Syllabus 2018

The MICAT was designed to assess analytical and verbal ability, logical reasoning, divergent thinking, written communication skills, creative potential and general awareness of contemporary social and industrial issues, including areas covered by the media , marketing, advertising and business.


MICAT Cutoff 2018

Once the MICAT – I & II 2018 outcome is announced, MICA will determine the MICAT 2018 boundary. The MICAT 2018 is the minimum score or percentile that a candidate must secure to obtain a short list of the selection process.

Those who qualify for the psychometric test will be evaluated in several sections of MICAT 2018, which includes verbal ability, quantitative ability, general awareness and divergent convergent reasoning.

The candidates who evaluate the cut for MICAT 2018 in the different sections will be evaluated for the descriptive test.

In the end, the examiners who obtain the minimum score in the TD will be considered for the Group Exercise (GP) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. The planned break for MICAT 2018 is between 59 and 62.

MICAT Merit List 2018

The MICAT 2018 merit list will contain the details of the candidates who will be considered admitted. The merit will be prepared after the round GE and PI and in this case, only candidates meeting the following criteria will be added:

  • Will be recommended by all the panel members of PI.
  • Manage to score the minimum of 3.5 scores in GE (on the scale of 5 points).
  • Will score the minimum of 4 scores, on the scale of 5, in PI.

Note: If the candidate falls under the third category then a final composite score will be prepared. It will be prepared on the basis of CAT/XAT/GMAT and MICAT, GE and PI. The weightage to each will be provided as below:

MICAT 2018 Selection Procedure

Shortlisting of candidates for GE and PI will be done as explained below:

Step 1 – The psychometric test will be verified. This will be only a qualifying examination and those who will be eligible will be called for an additional selection.

Step 2 – If a candidate qualifies the first stage, his / her CAT / XAT / GMAT score will be verified. It should be noted that:

If a candidate has appeared for two or three examinations, the best performance will be considered.
In addition, the examination shall be deemed to be subject to discontinuation of the examination.

Step 3 – Candidates passing through Stage 2 will be evaluated on the basis of the MICAT 2018 sections, namely VA, QAD, GA and DCT. If the candidates have been able to score more than the cut for these sections, the descriptive test of the candidates will be verified.

Step 4 – Applicants who successfully pass the descriptive test threshold will receive a call to GE and PI.

Note: According to official statistics, only 1/10 of the total number of candidates are preselected.
