The PULEET 2018 (May Semester) has been Declared. PULEET is well known as Panjab University Lateral Entry Entrance Test. Panjab University conducts this Lateral Entry Entrance Test (PULEET). Through this test, candidates can get admissions to the 4-year Bachelors of engineering programme offered at the University campus in Chandigarh. Candidates are in Diploma directly can enter into the 3rd semester of the 4 year BE programme under the lateral entry scheme through PULEET exam.

PULEET 2018 Admit Card


PULEET 2018 Admit cards have been released on 1oth July 2018.PULEET Admit cards only can download those who have successfully submitted their application. Admit cards can download them from official portal. Through online mode, candidates can download their PULEET hall ticket. Every applied candidate has to carry their hall ticket and ID proof at the time of examination and keep print copies of hall ticket for further use.

PULEET 2018 Application form


The PULEET Application form has been Released on 19th May 2018. Every year authority conducts the exam, Punjab University at its Chandigarh campus, which is the only exam center for conducting PULEET. Application form can be filled through online mode. The application will be available on official portal. After filling application candidates needs to upload their photograph and scanned signature such that it is the maximum of 50 KB in size and is in JPG/ JPEG/ PNG format. All candidates have to pay application form fees.

  • The candidates have to first register on the official website and then login with the provided credentials.
  • After successful login, the candidates can now apply online by fling in the application form with all the required details.
  • After completing the filling of the details, upload the scanned copies of recent passport size photograph and a signature.
  • After successful upload, save and submit the form.
  • On the scheduled date of reporting, bring duly filled-in Admission Form and Scrutiny Form (available in PULEET website) and three recent passport size (5 cm x 4 cm) photographs.
  • Bring the original documents and one set of self-attested photocopies of all the documents.

PULEET 2018 Eligibility

Candidates need to look at the given PULEET eligibility criteria which very important if fails candidates may face difficulty at the time of admission. To lateral entry from Diploma to 2nd year of 4-year B.E. degree level, the candidate should be passed diploma in Engineering of minimum 3-year duration after Matriculation Examination with Physics and Mathematics, from Polytechnic college/institute affiliated with the state board of Technical education/University, or recognized by UGC/AICTE.

  • The lateral entry from Diploma to 2nd year of 4-year B.E. degree level will subject to the following conditions:
  • The candidate must have passed Diploma in Engineering of minimum 3-year duration after Matriculation Examination with Physics and Mathematics, from Polytechnic college/institute affiliated with a state board of Technical education/University, or recognized by UGC/AICTE.
  • In addition, the candidate must have obtained 60% (55% for SC/ST/BC/PWD) marks as an aggregate in the Diploma Course as required by AICTE.

Or

  • The candidate must have passed diploma in the engineering of minimum 2-year duration after 10 + 2 from Polytechnic college/institute affiliated with a state board of technical education/university, or recognized by UGC/AICTE. In addition, the candidate must have obtained 60% (55% for SC/ST/BC/PWD) marks as an aggregate in the Diploma Course as required by AICTE.
  • Candidate must have passed their qualifying examination i.e. Diploma in Engineering not earlier than 2016.
  • Admission would be made on the basis of merit obtained in the Entrance Examination to be conducted by the Panjab University, Chandigarh.
  • Candidates having reappeared or compartment diploma in engineering is not eligible for admission in the course even though he/she clears the reappear or compartment by the time of counseling.
  • Candidates seeking admission to any of the reserved seats required to submit a Certificate regarding their category in the prescribed form duly issued and signed by the concerned authority of the State. The admission of a candidate against reserved seat will be provisional subject to verification of his/her certificate from the issuing authority.
  • If at any time after inquiry it is proved that the student has got the benefit by misrepresentation of facts or submitting false documents, his / her candidature shall be deemed to have been canceled.
  • The Institute follows reservation policy of Chandigarh Administration issued from time to time.

PULEET 2018 Pattern

Total of 75 questions will be objective type questions asked in the entrance exam. For each correct answer given by candidates will be awarded 1 mark and there is also Negative marking of ¼ marks for every wrong answer attempted or un-attempted. Candidates will be provided 1 hour 30 minutes to complete the exam complete paper on time because no extra time will be given to any candidate. from 4 option on MCQs available candidates have to enter 1 correct answer in the paper. Select more than one answer is invalid.

  • The duration of the Entrance Test will be one hour and thirty minutes and it will consist of 75 multiple-choice questions of one mark each.
  • The syllabus will be based broadly on the course contents as provided in the syllabus section.
  • There will be negative marking for wrong answers ( ¼ marks will be deducted).

Merit Criteria

  • The University will publish Merit List of the candidates for the above course on the basis of attainment of minimum of 20% marks (15% in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Schedules Tribes/ Backward Classes/PwD) of maximum marks in the Entrance Test.
  • The University will publish Merit List of the candidates on the basis of attainment of a minimum of 20% (15% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/BC/PWD) of the aggregate of maximum marks in the Entrance Test taken as a whole.
  • Candidates securing equal marks shall be bracketed together. Their inter-se merit will be determined by the Institution in accordance with the following criteria:

(i) A candidate getting the higher percentage of marks in the qualifying examination shall rank higher in order of merit.

(ii) That if the marks in qualifying examination are also the same then the candidates obtaining more marks in the immediate lower examination, shall rank higher in order of merit.

(iii) That if two or more candidates secure equal marks in (i) & (ii) above, candidate senior in age shall rank higher in the order of merit.

PULEET 2018 Results

The authority of University will declare the PULEET results of  UG entrance exams on the official website of the university. The result will be displayed on notice boards and also on the official website. Candidates have to keep copies of results it will be needed for the admission.
