What is the Age Limit of CDS Examinations | Age relaxation

UPSC ( Union Public Service Commission) it is one of the most popular organisations that conducted many examination and CDS is one of them. The CDS ( Combined Defence Service ) is conducted two times in a year by the UPSC  ( Union Public Service Commission ). SSB (selection board service ) takes the interview. Which were candidate give the personality, physical and intelligence test.

Combined Defence Service has four types, of course, they are the Indian Military Academy (IMA), the Indian Naval Academy (INA), the Indian Air Force Academy (AFA)and The Officer Training Academy (OTA). In CDS three types of subject I.e. English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics.

CDS examination there will be a negative marketing. Make sure that the candidates give more than one answer; it will be treated as a wrong answer.

Physical health Condition        

A candidate does not have any disease of bones and joints of the body.

The candidate does not have any history of mental breakdown or fits.

Candidates should be hear normal. In a quiet room, the candidates should need to hear in one voice with each ear at a distance of 610 cms. There does not have any past and present evidence of the ear and nose.

A candidate does not have any organic disease of the heart, blood vessel and blood pressure should be normal, and there will be free from AIDS.

Candidates should not be enlargement of liver or spleen, and their muscles of the abdomen should be well developed. Does not have any evidence of disease of internal organs of the abdomen will be a cause for rejection.

Candidate should fulfil all the physical condition of eyes, height, and weight, etc.

A candidate must be physically fit and mentally fine

Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status

  1. For Indian Military Academy ( IMA )—Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 1994 and not later than 1st January, 1999 only are eligible.
  2. For Indian Naval Academy (INA)—Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1994 and not later than 1st January, 1999 only are eligible.
  3. For Air Force Academy ( AFA )— 20 to 24 years as on 1st January 2018 i.e. born not earlier than 02nd January, 1994 and not later than 01st January, 1998 (Upper age limit for Candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 yrs. i.e. born not earlier than 02nd January, 1992 and not later than 01st January, 1998 only are eligible.

 

Note: Candidate below 25 years of age must be unmarried. Marriage is not permitted during training. Married candidates above 25 years of age are eligible to 7 apply but during training period they will neither be provided married accommodation nor can they live with family out of the premises.

  1. For Officers’ Training Academy ( OTA )—(SSC Course for Men) Male candidates (married or unmarried) born not earlier than 2nd January, 1993 and not later than 1st January, 1999 only are eligible.
  2. For Officers’ Training Academy ( OTA )—(SSC Women Non-Technical Course) Unmarried women, issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcees (in possession of divorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible. They should have been born not earlier than 2nd January, 1993 and not later than 1st January, 1999.

NOTE: Male divorcee/widower candidates cannot be treated as unmarried male for the purpose of their admission in IMA/INA/AFA courses and accordingly they are not eligible for these courses.

Examination Instruction

  1. The maximum marks are given to the written examination, and the interviews will be equal for each course i.e. the maximum marks allotted to the written examination and the interviews will be 300, 300,300 and 200 each for admission to the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officers’ Training Academy respectively.
  2. The papers in all the subjects will consist of objective type questions only. The question papers (Test Booklets) of General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics will be set bilingually in Hindi as well as English
  3. In the question papers, wherever necessary, questions involving the metric system of Weights and Measures only will be set.
  4. Candidates must write the papers in their hand. In no circumstances will they be allowed the help of a scribe to write answers for them.
  5. The Commission has the discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects of the examination.

Educational Qualifications

  1. For Indian Military Academy ( IMA ) and Officers’ Training Academy (OTA)— the candidate need to have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent
  2. For Indian Naval Academy ( INA ) — the candidate must have done with engineering degree from a recognized university or institution
  3. For Air Force Academy ( AFA ) — the candidate needs to have a bachelor’s degree from a  recognized university  (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.

Graduates with the first choice as Army/Navy/Air Force are to submit proof of graduation provisional certificates on the date of commencement of the SSB Interview at the SSB.

Candidates who are studying in the final year/semester Degree course and have yet to pass the final year degree examination can also apply provided candidate should not have any present backlog up to the last semester/year for which results have been declared up to the time of submission of application, and they will be required to submit proof of passing the degree examination at the time of SSB to reach the Army HQ/Rtg.

Candidates possessing professional and technical qualifications which are recognised by government as equivalent to professional and technical degrees would also be eligible for admission to the examination.

Candidates who are debarred by the Ministry of Defence from holding any commission in the Defence Services shall not qualify for admission to the examination, and if admitted, their candidature will be cancelled.
