Sherpa and Mount Everest not only famous in Nepal but around the world of adventure, where Sherpa often tagged along with world’s highest Mt. Everest that towers high above 8,848 m / 29,028 ft makes the tallest peak on this planet earth.

Sherpa are famous as mountaineering and trekking guides they are the pioneers and early climbers since the days of Tenzing and Hillary the first legendary mountaineers to reach on top of Mt. Everest summit and the roof of the world.

Before British Expedition he had explored and climbed Mt. Everest with various mountaineering team from Switzerland, Germany and the USA but did not reach the top before May 29th 1953, after many years of experience having opportunity as a guide for Hillary and British Expedition that made him very famous world-wide.

With the word Everest Tenzing Sherpa name follows making him one of the leading figures in the world of adventure sports and mountaineering, that makes Sherpa people very famous along with Mt. Everest.

Since and before Everest was conquered Sherpa had been a loyal and friendly guide as well as a good companion for world-wide mountaineers and trekkers, where Nepal Himalaya was first explored by Bill Tilman, Tony Hagen and other adventurer finding hidden corners of Himalaya where Sherpa was the first choice as guides and high altitude porters to carry camping gear and equipment needed for exploration.

Sherpa are the true mountaineers and natural climbers who can withstand high altitude and thin air for many days than other normal low areas people of Nepal with their strong attitude and open smile makes any travelers a welcome sign and comfort that makes then one of the most adorable tribes in this part of the world.

Along with Sherpa where Mt. Everest shadows around Sherpa villages the tallest peaks on this earth where the name is Chomolungma in Sherpa of Tibetan origin, and in Nepalese known as Sagarmatha in both languages means ‘Great Mother’.

A great mountain also known as the ‘Third Pole’ due to its arctic cold zone of deep ice and snow located within Nepal the South Face and North Face within Tibet / China, the name Mt. Everest a tribute to the late Sir George Everest, a chairman and head of the survey department with British East Indian Company based at Calcutta in India.

Before the name Everest known as Peak IV after it was declared as the world’s highest mountain then christened as Mt. Everest, where early climbers like Irving and Mallory first climbed Everest way back in 1922 followed by many expeditions from wide world from Tibet and Nepal.
